Default 2015 RX350 AWD 20in wheel upgrade

I have decided to give my 2015 RX350 a little more style by upgrading to the larger 20in newer RX350 style wheels. I am now just deciding on tire sizes to order for the wheels. My choices so far are 235/50-20 or 255/45-20 sizes. I ordered some 2018 20in Lexus RX350 replica wheels which arrived today. I will order the tires soon when I decide on the set I what.

Here is what I have so far. I went with the machined/ gunmetal dark silver finish over the stock machined/black finish. I do not like black painted wheels or black highlights.

Have you used the CL tire rim calculator to help decide which size to get?

I used a tire size calculator and those two tire sizes are the closest fit to the stock 235/60-18 tires I have now. The 235/50-20 tire has less choices, but is closes to the stock tire size. 255/45-20 tires are wider but are a tad bit smaller in diameter than the stock tires; yet have more tire choices.

The Yokohama ADVAN sport A/S tires I want only comes in the 255/45-20 size at my local tire store. The 235/50-20 tires are mainly Bridestone tires and some back-ordered Michelin Cross-climate SUV tires. I am leaning towards the 255/45-20 Yokohama ADVAN sport A/S tires.

I purchased some very cheap "Toyota " wheel sensors off Ebay that arrived today. I hope that they are legit since the price was to good to pass up. They came in OEM bags with part numbers.

My only concern is that the TPMS sensors only have a clear sealant on the backs instead of a case cover like most OEM sensors I have purchased in the past for other makes. If they work then I am fine with them.

I think there are newer design TPMS sensors than what is on the RX. I recall the valve stems looking different on a friend's 2019 Honda.
The tire shop will know if they are okay.

I assume(hope) that the sensors will fit and work since these Toyota sensors part numbers(42607-33022) on the bags are listed as replacements for the 2015 Lexus RX350 sensor part number(42607-0E012).

Test the sensors before installing them into the wheels/tires. Make sure they work and register. Just an idea

This. But also sometimes the difference in part numbers is the angle that the metal stem comes out of the actual sensor at. Very rare but there maybe a chance that when your trying to install the sensor into the valve hole on the rim the sensor body will be hitting the barrel of the rim.

I made an appointment at my local tire shop to have new 255/45-20 Yokohama AVAN Sport A/S+ tires installed on the wheels this Friday. I hope the sensors work with the wheels and TPMS system. I will let you guys know and post pics.

Success. The wheels, tires, and TPMS sensors worked/fits perfectly. The 20in newer style wheels does freshen up my 2015 RX350. The base silver 18in wheels are not bad looking, but they do give the rx350 a very boring look.

New wheels installed. Still look stock, but with a more modern upscale look.

Thank you. The ride quality is good. The ride is firmer due to the lower profile tires, but my RX350 handles better and stop better with the wider tires. The Yokohama tire are very quiet so the ride is still as nice as with the stock size wheels.

Here is a closer pic of the wheels and tires with better lighting from the side.

That looks great. Did you have any trouble with the wheel studs being too short? I put the 18x8" 2020 RX base model wheels on my 2008 but I had to switch to the slightly longer 2016+ wheel studs due to running out of threads on the stock ones. Lexuspartsnow indicates that the same studs are used for all of the RXs until the 2016+ models. Could be that the 20" wheels might have a little more leeway with the studs vs. the 18" wheels.

Thank you.

No mounting issues that I am aware of. The local tire store installed the new wheels without any issues that they discussed to me. The 2010+ RX350 did receive many changes over the second generation RX330/350 you have. Actually the newer studs fit 2015-2021 RX350 models, so many refreshed 2015 models may have gotten the newer wheel studs before the 2016 model change. I guess my 2015 have the longer newer studs.
