^^ Yep, and Subaru has an excellent AWD system as well. My 2013 Outback 3.6R Limited has handled several foot-deep fresh snowfalls with ease while running just a good set of General Altimax RT43 H-rated all-season tires. It remains our trusty snow & ice vehicle while our other three vehicles stay parked safely at home until the roads are completely clear again.

I once navigated into Yosemite Valley in the Jeep (No lift kit, all original, even OEM tire size) with snow on the road over top of the headlights/hood, in just 4WD and chains. I was the only vehicle moving, with scores in the ditches, all facing the wrong way, even a tour bus! At the lodge I parked right beside a guy in a Subaru, who unwisely told me he took it out of AWD bc he was using it for the first time and didn't want to leave it engaged too long.
Next morning he could not get out of the spot.

My Subaru is full-time AWD. The only way to go to just 2WD would be to pull a drive shaft. Never knew Subaru made vehicles in which you could select just 2WD.
The most fun in the snow I ever had was when we were in South Lake Tahoe to ski at Heavenly Valley in early February 1986. We were there for 4 days, and a total of 9 feet of snow fell during those 4 days. I don't think it ever stopped snowing the entire time we were there. By far the best skiing of my life. We had a new rental Chevy full-size K-5 Blazer SUV and it got us to wherever we wanted to go with no problems at all. The South Lake Tahoe crews kept the roads as clear as they could during our time there. Kudos to them.
