2020 vs 2021 Luxury Trim RX350?
Hello folks,
I'm looking to get a used RX (2020, 2021) and wondering about the pros and cons of each of these model years. As far as I have researched there doesn't seem to be many significant changes. I'm looking specifically at the Luxury trim or higher as that's the one with the larger touchscreen.
Are there any pros of getting a 2020 over say a 2021 at the Luxury trim level? Any changes with the Touchscreen? I read it was "slow" but a software update fixed it?
Any advice/information would be appreciated. I'm in Canada if it matters. Thank you!

You don't need Luxury Trim to get the larger touchscreen, your vehicle just needs to be equipped with the navigation package. Its actually counter intuitive to me because you can now use carplay (or android auto) with 2020 or higher, so you don't really "need" the navigation option. That said, mine is equipped with the option and I do prefer the larger screen but I never use it for actual navigation as I'm using carplay. Here is a video that will compare the luxury vs premium package, but if all your after is a bigger screen, look for a premium + navigation and you will save over the luxury package.

There are two packages on the RX 350, i.e. the Premium Package and the Luxury Package. I have always purchased the Premium Package. Leather seats only comes with the Luxury Package along with some other enhancements. I never felt the Luxury package was necessary or cost effective. I do use the Navigation system occasionally rather than the cell phone navigation app. I have a USAA insurance app on my cell phone that counts the times I use the phone, even if it is "hands free". It also logs "harsh braking" and subtracts from my driving phone use score. I get roughly a $550 annual rebate for safe driving. This app is a good incentive to not use my cell phone while driving. I don't believe you can tell much difference in the 2020 and 2021 models. My last two RXs have been RX 450h models and I am very pleased with them. Gas mileage is better and the transmission is smother on the 450h.

Awesome video . Thank you for sharing! I did not know about the Premium+Nav option. Definitely something to keep in mind.

I have no first-hand knowledge, but from years of reading the forum you might have different packaging in Canada than those of us in the states do.
