I got a hit on left rear side - passenger door, and the damage was only limited to the passenger door. I took my car to Lexus dealer, and I informed about replacing the door, and place new paint. The repaired took 3 days, but I'm not satisfied with color match. The dealer is saying 100% color match is not possible as factory paint has already faded out. I also was surprised that they have painted the rear fender, and driver door to blend the color, but still not matching. They offered to re-paint again same area, or even to full side with no cost, but I need opinions. Should I ask them to re-do? or paint the whole side? Or should I keep?
Sometime I believe that dealer has used the wrong paint code - 085 Eminent White Pearl, instead of 083 White Nova (my car color).
Look at difference betw the arrow pointed at front door and rear door. Original photo I have modified the image light
Update:
I had my car repainted at same dealership with no additional cost, and I had received a replacement car, yes it was a dealership mistake due to paint mixing with chemicals that help to dry paint quickly which caused the yellowish appearance at specific light.
Now, I have tested the paint thickness with paint gauge, and it seems paint is thick at specific spots between .2 mm and .6 (at edges). While original paint factory is only .15mm. Should I worry about this extra paint thickness? Should I ask dealership to sand and buff? Is it free of charge service?
1. Not knowing the age of your car, and seeing your AZ location, sunlight does in fact change the color of auto paint over time.
2. IMHO, a professional body shop is almost guaranteed to do a better job on painting than a car dealer. I've had two occasions in the past 5 years to have minor body damage fixed and repainted, and the quality of work my local body shop does never ceases to amaze me.
Hard to tell from the photo. We have both - my wife's RX is white pearl and my ES is ULTRA white. They are very different colors and I see them next to each other every single day
1- My car is 2016 so about 6 years old, but I’m surprised if sun light causing this color change.
2- Agreed, I should have taking my car to professional body shops instead of the dealer.
Personally I would never take my car to a dealer for body work. I go the the best auto repair shop around, the ones that repair Ferraris, Teslas, etc. According to my body shop manager White or Atomic Silver are the most difficult to match. I have had body work done on my Atomic Silver 4 times and all were perfect and they all were covered by insurance. The body shop will negotiate the estimate directly with the insurance company.
That said, I don't know if you have that option now.

The only option I have is to ask dealer to re-paint. I don’t think that dealer will refund money back to insurance company or directly to me.

Thats either the wrong color or awful blend, but seems to me wrong color. As previous member stated the new paint if correct would have been “whiter” and in your case the new paint seems slightly darker or more pearl. I’m not an auto body guy but a type A personality and that wouldn’t cut it for me. Ask for a do over.

Yes, you're right, my car got inspected by another auto body and he confirmed this different color. Also, he told there're some area where paint is thick around .25mm, .30mm and .35mm, and it should be .15mm.
