Question A Pillar Removal

Hi All,

I am curious on removal of A pillar on 4th Gen RX350L. I guess it's the same as normal RX but if anybody removed and have an experience please share the photos or the video.

Thanks,
Dovlet

You mean just the trim on the A pillar, right?

I did a dash cam install a couple of years ago on my 2020 (non L). Removing A pillar trim was easy....just pull. I may have gently used an upholstery tool, but trim just pops off and when done snaps back on.

I looked for pics from when I did it but think that I did not bother. I am sure that there are some videos on YouTube, but I don't recall it being anything other than obvious and easy.

Just pay attention to the airbag routing, so if anything is going up there (wires etc) just be sure to not interfere with airbag.

I removed mine. I had to start at the top, and pull the pillar towards you. There is a clip with a retainer that will pop loose enough to access the retainer. You’ll get about 4” of clearance to turn the retainer 90-degrees so that it can be removed (hard part). Then pull up towards the ceiling. The bottom portion of the a-pillar is rested slightly below the dash.

It’s designed this way as there is a side curtain airbag in the pillar. Take extra care not to damage it.

I know there are videos on YouTube.
