Hi all,

I tried searching if anyone has had this issue, but yesterday, my right turn signal started to blink 3 times and stops automatically without making the turn. The lights on the dash turn off and the bulbs are off. But, when I put hazards on, it works fine.

Any ideas? I have no idea if it's a fuse and don't know where to check, in the hood or under the steering wheel.

Doesn't sound like a fuse, maybe the turn signal switch. Anyway, what year, model etc?

 

Almost sounds like you accidently triggered the turn signal only slightly and the lane change feature turned on for 3 blinks which is what is the factory setting. It goes off automatically after the 3 blinks.

No, it's intentional when I engage the signal when want to change lanes/turn/etc. Just turns off when I didn't make the turn yet.

 

When you pull the stalk down does it click and stay in place or does it return to the center position? If the stalk stays in place (even though the flasher stops after 3 blinks) does it return to the center position after you make a right turn?

 

When I turn left, the stalk goes down, blinks fine, and comes back to middle after the turn.
When I turn right, stalk goes up, blinks 3 times and turns off, and comes back to the middle after the turn.

 

Here's a fun update, the "problem" "fixed" itself, turning signal works fine now. Thanks for the help though!

 

So you had a visit from the "magic mechanic"?

 

The turn signa stalk has two positions. One is lite touch for lane changing, and the other, where the stalk remains in the turned position, is for turning a corner. You can change the 3 flashes of the turn signal to 4 or 5 by using Carista. The number of flashes as well as other options can be changed.
