RX350 - Aniline Leather finish locations?
I've recently added a 2020 RX350 Luxury package to my stable and I've got some questions getting my detailing routine down. My GS is the standard premium package which has the Nuluxe interior, but the RX has the luxury package with semi aniline seats.
1: Is all of the interior trim semi aniline or is it just the seats?
2: If its not the entire interiot trim is it the entire seat or just the main stitched part and it has Nuluxe sides?
I clean with P&S Xpress Interior Cleaner, I'm mostly wondering if I should add their leather treatment or dynamic dressing, or stick with 303 aerospace for everything.
Thanks!

Leather seating surfaces - it's generally the surfaces that touch you when you're sitting.

I have a 2022 RX 450h w/ Luxury package. (semi -aniline leather). In my vehicle the "leather" is in the center panel of the front seat bottoms and on the entire seat back surfaces with the exception of the head rests and the material which wraps around the back of the front seats. The back seats are about the same. So... the rest of the seat coverings are Nuluxe. Also, there is Nuluxe, not leather on door panels and the front console.
I was sort of angry to discover there was less "leather" on the seats and trim than I would have expected. But, in the real world this is the best of both worlds. The Nuluxe is used in areas that are subject to wear / cracking and dye transfer from jeans such as the side and bottom seat bolsters as well as doors and console trim panels. The Nuluxe resists the wear that leather might not in such areas.(Cracking and dye transfer) So for this application Nuluxe is a great. Is Nuluxe better across the board? Heck no. On any of the seat panels that use the real "aniline leather" the surfaces are much thicker, feel more supportive, have better color richness, keeps the interior smelling like leather, feels real to the touch and without question looks better. If you touch the NuLuxe on the doors or console you know it is not leather for sure! Feels like cheap garbage to be honest, but it is durable and functions well in high abrasion areas.
All the seat coverings in my vehicle still look new without exception with 30,000 miles on the clock.
I use professional grade (water-based) leather cleaners and conditioners 2-3 times per year on the real leather panels. (Leather Master) As well as frequently vac the seats and use sun shields in the windshield. I became familiar with the Leather Master products from a high end leather furniture maker to care for our sofas and club chairs the are covered in pure / un-coated aniline leathers. (Mail order only). Some say don't bother with care products because the "semi" aniline leather is protected with a coating. True, but when you apply Leather Master products to the leather panels in the car is renews the great tactile feel and grip of the leather where you sit.

Can't speak to the RX but my 2014 LS with semi-aniline leather is seating surfaces and center armrest cover. The rest is vinyl.
Honestly, the leather is cars these days is pretty awful and looks like trash after 10 years. For my approaching purchase of a new(er) RX, I'm looking for Nu-Lux (vinyl)!
