Default 2021 RX350 vs 2021 ES350

Looking at more CPO. What made you buy the RX over the ES350 and why? I do not want a hybrid so that’s out. I’m looking for quietness and comfort.

Rx is an SUV, suits my needs, and is easier for me to get in and out.
ES350 is a car and I have not owned a car for many years.....

If I had to guess the ES is probably a bit more smooth and quiet. The RX has a different type of space if that's important.

I don't think you would go wrong with either. There is an old but similar post going from an ES to an RX.

Good luck

I have a RX 350 which I love. Quite, comfortable and spacious for people and carrying stuff.

I also had a ES300h. That was the most comfortable car I've ever owned. It was like a lazy boy on wheels. As Quite as it gets and i had the base model only. Spacious inside the cabin too. Seats don't fold, so luggage storage is limited to trunk only. And It's a car , riding and sitting much lower to the ground.

I personally prefer the higher ride of the SUV and abit livelier drive.

Totally personal preferences. Both great vehicles. At least based on my experience

Our RX is my wife’s vehicle. I know you don’t want a hybrid but if a SUV is what you want and quietness is a prerequisite, then the hybrid should be high on your list. Her prior RX350 was not even close to the 450h in quietness. She likes how it rides high and gives her better road visibility than her old ES did. This is the first vehicle we have ever owned with the CVT and it is so smooth compared to previous models. Happy wife happy life.

I had a 2019 ES 350 before switching to a 2022 RX 350. I enjoyed driving the ES more, quietness was about the same. However don't get the ES with a thigh extender seat like I had, it felt like there was a metal bar in the seat bottom running from back to front. Quite a few complaints about that seat on the ES forum, and it was the reason I had to let it go.

Most of the RX vs ES comparisons I’ve been reading on here have been for much older models (3rd Gen/4th Gen). With the redesign of both of these vehicles over the years, some of those posts are not that relevant to the 2019+ models.

I’m leaning more towards the RX just because of my family situation and versatility. Sitting higher up and ease to get in and out is nice as well.

In Jersey, it is a no brainer to get an SUV AWD.

I bought a new 2021 RX350 F sport and traded that in on a new 2024 ES350 ultra luxury and the reason I did was the seat in the F sport was so uncomfortable I could not take it anymore. My ES350 is perfect for me and I have no regrets doing so.
The ES rides so much smoother and quiet compared to the RX I had IMO. You may find the seat in the non Fsport to be much better in the comfort department.
AS far as the seat extender I love the way it feels and was the main reason I got the ES.

Why is it a no brainer in NJ - we happen to have both but the ES does just fine in winter weather if that's what you mean.

I had an RX350 and now a CRV, both AWD, but I agree with you. Never had a problem with FWD sedans in the snow.

During the winter weather when snow is bad the sedan is not going to able to go through the deep snow and the ice slushes. The SUV with AWD handles it like nothing.

If the snow is that bad, most businesses and schools would be closed anyway. You stay home!

Well, if you have a job that's 24/7 some people like me has to drive in inclement weather unfortunately.
Funny, I work at a tv station, and while we're broadcasting advising people to stay home, all essential personal has to make it to work.

True to a certain extent. Some people still needs to travel for their own personal reasons.

Exactly - who's driving through feet of snow.
