Which RX350 is most reliable? 2020, 2021, 2022
Hi all,
My wife and I are thinking of buying a used RX and wondering which year is most reliable for years, 2020, 21, and 22.
I'd love to hear what others say.
Thanks

Pole Position
They are all reliable. J D Power's 2023 dependability study looks at 2020 models. The RX is the most reliable in the midsize luxury SUV category but it also ranked the most dependable of all models surveyed.. My guess is in the 2024 and 2025 studies the 2021 and 2022 RX will rate the same.

Don't think so you will get any trends for these 3 years. Will just depend on the actual car, mileage and usage
If it was used harshly like as an event car, a dealer service loaner car or wasn't dealer maintained it'll have more wear. If it looks like normal single driver user, like a lease return, and dealer serviced and Lcertified and under 40k miles it'll be in better shape.
Perhaps the only reliability trend is if you find a rare Japanese manufactured one that may likely have slightly better components and build than the North America (Canada) build. 2020 to 2022 should all be pretty much the same. Especially used, any immediate issues should have been exposed already.
if you are also concerned about long term reliability, you can cover your concerns by buying a Lcertified from the dealer and then consider a Lexus extended warranty and/or Lexus maintenance plan. You can start negotiations at 50% of their initial quote.

It was not covered by warranty. They quoted me $8,000 for repair. My insurance footed most of the bill. If you buy an RX, just have Lexus install the arinix tip (my friend did it for $19) to prevent this from happening.

If you are worried about this,
If you are filtering your purchase on a CPO, the a/c tsb may already be done for you as part of the CPO process; it was done in my 2020 CPO purchase, as part of the CPO service.
Every reputable dealer will show you the official service history upon request...It's going to be in your app once you buy it anyway.
If they didn't do it, you can negotiate on the purchase.

Because Lexus claims it's not a manufacturer defect but due to "external forces" (i.e., spiders, insects etc). Which is BS because this is a known issue that's been plaguing Lexus/Toyota vehicles for years, likely a design flaw
