Default Dimples in interior door panel rx350

About a year ago I noticed a little indention in my driver's side door pane. I'm now up to 8-10 indentions with no explanation from Lexus. . .except for an offer to replace the panel for approxmately $1,000.00. Anyone else experiencing this? If you look closely, there are more developing :-(

Looks like the padding underneath is definitely seeing some type of degradation. Is it still under warranty because I can't see why they wouldn't replace that for you. I'm heading back to my dealer today so I'd be happy to get a second opinion if necessary.

Hello, thank you for your reply. I am out of warranty as of 11/4/2022. I am just very disappointed as this is not what I expect from Lexus. This is my 3rd Lexus over the last 16 years and I've come to expect their high standards and quality which is why I continue to purchase them.

Spoke to the service advisor at my local dealer. For small things like this Lexus seems to have a good reputation in trying to retain customers so something like this could be replaced on “goodwill”. I’d try flying that idea across them again or perhaps try another location.

I showed him your photo and he immediately squinted his eyes and said “What the heck is that!?”.

if Lexus fixes this with good will, I would also look a bit closer if it is something aa passenger you have/had could be the cause.

I will tell you where I am coming from. When I was in my 20s, I used to have scratch marks on my nose and I could not figure it our. Well, it turns out it was my girlfriend's pointed back of her ear rings. LOL! Enough said.

Passenger the cause? He said it was on the drivers side. Correct me if I missed something.

Oh. My bad. Then think hard what else could be the cause. If you think nothing, then it's nothing.

Default It is the driver's door.

The damage is on the driver's side door, the other 3 doors are fine. I am the only driver of the car and can confidently say nothing is happening in the car that would put pressure on that spot. Every since the dents first started showing up I've been very conscious of anything that could possibly be the culprit and there's nothing that I can pin point. I don't lean to the side when driving, I drive with my windows up and use my car's eco system for cooling or heating. There's just no clear explanation other than faulty padding under the surface.

I have the same exact problem with my RX. I assumed originally it was the previous owner's dog but I guess now it's just panel disintegration.

TRDoffroad. . .Has anyone at Lexus given you any answers? I feel that this is a defect that should not be happening on a $70K car :-(
