Report: Next-Generation Lexus RX to Debut at New York Auto Show
Edmunds has now confirmed that the next-generation Lexus RX will be revealed at the New York Auto Show in April:
Just two weeks ago, Edmunds reported that the next-gen RX would debut at this week’s Detroit Auto Show, which obviously didn’t happen — however, an NYC reveal makes a lot of sense in terms of venue and timing.
There’s not much substance in the rest of the rumor — the RX may or may not be stretched, it may have seven seats or it might not. The good news is that the New York Auto Show is fast approaching, and there’s bound to be more information shortly.

2016 Lexus RX 350 Bound for 2015 New York Auto Show
The redesigned 2016 Lexus RX 350 SUV will be unveiled at the 2015 New York Auto Show in April, Edmunds has confirmed.
It is expected to arrive at Lexus dealerships later this year.
The popular RX 350 competes with such vehicles as the Acura MDX, Audi Q7, BMW X5, Lincoln MKX and Volvo XC90.
The RX 350 is expected to be larger, a strategy that will separate it in terms of size and price from the recently introduced 2015 Lexus NX 200t SUV, which shares a platform with the smaller Toyota RAV4.
Car shoppers should expect the redesigned RX 350 to use an extensive amount of lightweight materials to boost fuel economy. It will continue to share a platform with the Toyota Camry and Toyota Avalon, industry sources said.
The RX 350 may be stretched a bit to accommodate a third-row seat, but Lexus has not confirmed whether seven-passenger seating will be offered. The model has been a five-seater since its inception in 1998.
As for styling, Lexus is not expected to mess with success. The RX 350 has been Lexus’ No. 1 selling model for years, accounting for about 35 percent of total Lexus sales last year. The styling will be evolutionary rather than revolutionary.
As with all redesigned Lexus models, a bit more pizzazz may be injected into the styling, particularly in the spindle grille, a predominant styling cue on new Lexus models.
Edmunds says: The Lexus RX 350 has always been a perfect combination of family-style practicality, carlike comfort and a top-notch ownership experience. A third-row s

Why doesn't Lexus come out with an announcement of their own. Edmunds says they have confirmed it with who?
After the Edmunds Detroit auto show fail on this what's to believe?
May there be sneak peek at the Geneva Show March 5th?

this is pretty much how all of the media works right now... a lot of the articles are really badly written with wrong info stated as facts. It used to annoy me greatly but I dont really care anymore. It is rare that some writer knows more about this brand than most of us here.

Another question is when they will show off the full spindle updated 2016 GS (be it 200t, 350 and 450h - which may be on the chopping block)

I think they might do one of those outlines or teasers, and then may release official photos/ some specs a few days prior the NY Autoshow imho

A quick look through my vehicle locator tells me there are 23 GS450h's for Stateside. 13 of those are reserved. Of the 23, 11 are allotted, 2 are freight, 10 are on the ground.
5 2013's
3 2014's
15 2015's

we dont really know what they are planning so far... is 450h being updated? If so, are they planning to drop the price? That would be the way to "fix" the sales... do with it like with GX and sales will go up. With current engine, they obviously cant do it or they would have never priced it so high.

That artist render actually looks pretty good but it needs to be better, Lexus is a top 3 premium automaker, the RX is a luxury car and it needs to look so. All of these black trim trends are not luxury at all.
RX will come with 5 seater but maybe have 3rd row option like the x5 has.
