2016 Lexus RX revealed (pics page 35)

Better quality brightened pic:
Looks great IMO. Atleast the floating roof is something new - Lexus will be a pioneer in Europe with this on a SUV as the Nissan Murano is not available in europe. Damn those wheels are looking awesome

Looks like the renders are very correct as I suggested. Good job on UZJ's part, as he was the first person to post it here and it spread around afterward. Someone on the inside was giving away the design to the artist and maybe saw a prototype or CAD file (incorrect taillight clustre). Thanks as well zema.
It is quite absurd how some detractors are already spouting off that Lexus copied the 2015 Nissan Murano (Z52), which is impossible (I've stated that so many times). The 2016 RX was designed (final sign-off) through mid-2013. Usually one doesn't see test mules (AL10-body) until some idea of the final production design has been reached internally. RX200t mules were seen over 18 months ago.
Where was Nissan's Murano 2 years ago, when the 4RX was reaching a point of "no return" on internal design decision-making? Nissan hadn't shown it yet.
That's not correct, as the LF-Gh wasn't even shown until late March 2011. These renders were done in January 2011. Not even teasers of the LF-Gh were shown until March 2011 and Toyota lawyers barely filed U.S. design patents for the LF-Gh on February 22, 2011.
Like the 4RX, someone correctly predicted the L10 GS design well before seeing prototypes running publicly and any design previews. Both cases, as well as the XF40 LS, are insider sourced. You must be mistaking subsequent GS renders seen during the summer of 2011, a time when L10 prototypes were already running around.

^^
Well to be fair with the 4GS rendering they just took the LF-Gh concept and grafted CT200h front end, door handles, and mirrors on it, so their guess wasn't based on anything substantial.
The RX renderings though look really well done, too well done. They even have the same wheels as the spyshot mules. Though I question the lack of separated DRLs in the render. But who knows.

There's probably a partial window beneath the section just behind the door, similar to the additional window that RX currently has, but then blends into more of just a continuous trim piece that continues on toward the back.

having owned all three generations of RX, I cant say I'm in love with the floating roof design. They played it safe for the last two gens but that didn't hurt sales and the current RX still looks pretty good and masculine. I don't like it on the Murano and I don't know if I like it here
Also I still see plastic black trim on the arches

I don't think this floating roof will affect sales.
The RX is like the camry. No matter how bland or ugly, it will be a best seller.

As to the powertrains, since we know V6 is going to be 300+ hp with D4S and Atkinson, do we know anything about hybrid? Is it going up to 340 hp as well?
2.0t is expected worldwide, but i wonder about 300h as well.
