As to the powertrains, since we know V6 is going to be 300+ hp with D4S and Atkinson, do we know anything about hybrid? Is it going up to 340 hp as well?

2.0t is expected worldwide, but i wonder about 300h as well.

RX doesn't necessarily need more power in hybrid form. It just needs less weight. At almost 5000 pounds, the current RX still gets 30mpg. Imagine if they reduce the weight to around 4300

Personally I disagree. The 295hp total system power is a marketing fail. They could easily find a way to reach the magical 300+ number. Honestly feels like a slap in the face. I will agree with less weight though

i wonder if lexus said wtf when the murano was revealed.

these designs are locked in years before reveal, and it's interesting both companies came up with the floating roof

The black rear-side panel looks to be a complete piece and not a combination of glass and piano-black extension, which leads me to believe that it may be a complete piece of blacked-out glass outside but only a (small) triangular-shaped window inside. The rearward extension of the glass is likely covering a structural D-pillar inside.

They started playing with floating roof back in 2006.

I am okay with a floating roof like the image above if the entire C(D?) pillar is black, ala M class. But to have just a slither is weird

It needs not gimped hybrid system, so 340hp with d4s hopefully.

why not 3300 lbs while we are at it?

NX is 4200lbs with much smaller hybrid system and vehicle.

Aluminium won't shave more than 150lbs. There is no magic wand...

You are probably thinking Q7 and it's miraculous weight loss... Well, Q7 diesel is between 4800-4900lbs mid spec, so no miracles there.

Dealers saw this design last year, let alone various regional marketing/sales staff. They were just good at hiding it from us.

2016 RX... It look quite close to the teaser. I would love to see it in a darker color

Most likely the RX 200t will replace the RX 270 (2.7l I4 motor). Too bad U.S. won't get it...

We'll just get the:

RX 350
RX 450h

Hopefully all variants will get the F Sport...

I don't mind a floating roof, but not at the expense of no side windows. How is this thing going to have any rear, side visibility? And I thought my mom's 2013 RX was limited. Why don't they just make it a cargo van with no side windows at all, since that seems to be the direction we are headed in with every redesign.
