All cars use wood veneer vs solid wood.

Of course. There would be too much material wasted if it was solid, and you're bound to have shrinkage later on.

It wouldn't surprise me if a male RX driver said this looked great. Of course it does. And I'm sure as you mentioned more male buyers will get in esp. those that have been undecisive. But that does not mean this is not seen as a female suv. Toyota/Lexus and the general public know this regardless how we think.

So is this black piece which I thought was just a metal trim piece, Actually see thru glass? The flash in the photo shows the glass logo.
Haven't found any other photos from the inside that shows it.

Looks quite good to me. Nothing ground-breaking but some nice improvements in all aspects, which is exactly what the currently aging but still selling RX needs.

If you look at the interior photos available directly through the lexus website, its actually a mix. Theres a small window there, but surronded by metal.

Default I spy with my eye....

So I guess Lexus is addressing the interior design questions by looking to their german competition:

Lexus

Audi:

BMW:

Good stuff from Lexus, if you cant beat em join em

3 interior complaints: I wish the screen was taller (I love the giant screen in my GS), button explosion on the steering wheel, and open cup holders. I rarely close my cup holders because I put my phone there, but I still like to have the option.

That said, I love the new exterior and like the more traditional layout they went with for the interior. Could definitely see this replacing my wife's car in the future.

I see the RX 350 FSport and the RX 450. Is it me or did they not show the regular RX350?

You're overanalyzing this. All dashboards will have similar basic designs, just because of the constraints of space and engineering needs, not to mention the limits of human driver anatomy. Even so, I don't see where exactly it is in those photos that Lexus "joined" (did you mean "copy"?) the Germans.

The floating display is a red-handed steal out of BMW. This car looks like a mix of BMW and Audi interiors with some Acura mixed in on the headlights. Definitely another step towards Lexus's transition to sharp edges found on Cadillacs. Nonetheless, I'm sure we'll either end up with one of these or an X5 in another 5-6 years.

One item I noticed that will be missed is the convenient driver's side vent cup holder not on the 4RX.

I like the design overall, with the exception of the front hang over and gaping F-sport grille. The hybrid grill is much more pleasing.

So to confirm, they took a GS350 2GR-FSE engine and stuffed in transversely into the RX's engine bay?

I wonder if this engine will make it to any other FWD Camry based Toyota/Lexus vehicles.
