Bought a new to me CPO 2016 RX 350, Silver Lining exterior black leather interior, options: Premium, Comfort ventilated seats, folding power heated mirrors, remote start, Navigation, latch emblem opener, clear front protector, 15,500 miles. Replaced 2013 ES 350, 18,000 miles, needed SUV seat with higher seats and softer ride.
Made two mistakes and hope future buyers can avoid them: 1) Do not trade with the dealer. Arrange for private sale, find a worthy relative or charity. I walked out after they offered $17,500 in trade, accepted 18,500 two weeks after their "best dealer offer" which is a BS procedure practiced by Lexus Plus dealers. The trade sold at $23,500. Grr! That 6k loss makes the vehicle's performance shine less brightly. 2) Avoid any Extended Warranty after the CPO warranty expires. The salesman said it was insured by CNA--but it is just another third party warranty with terms more restrictive than the new/CPO warranty. The warranty claims are adjusted by CNA and Lexus and the dealership are not parties to the contract. I rescinded it, and will get reimbursed, but that process alone has been onerous--imagine if there was a claim it would be even more so. I had the dealer perform the ECU/transmission reboot that forum posters mentioned--it effectively fixed the hestitation in low gears. Thanks for the good info.

Oldernu, you didn’t mention what equipment your ES 350 had or what kind of condition it was in, so I just took the standard base 2013 ES 350 with 18,000 miles & ran it in the NADA book value page. It appears that your dealer gave you average book value for your trade & then sold it for slightly below the average retail price. This appears to be a very fair transaction, based on the info you provided. I can’t say that Lexus as a whole strives to make good deals, but my dealer went out of their way to earn my business. I didn’t have a trade & I bought a demo model. I was looking for a red RX 350, but there were none to be had. They offered me a red RX 450h with 4,000 miles as a demo for more than $10,000 off sticker price. They also held the car for 30 days due to some really crazy circumstances & we were 200 miles away. At no point did I ever feel pressured that I had to buy this car. Everything flowed naturally & we took each other’s word (something I rarely do with car dealers). The 30 days allowed them to perform any service that was needed & I had them put the paint matched rubber & chrome body side molding on, along with some chrome trim at the bottom of the doors. It really gave it some class without getting gaudy.

Glad you had a good experience. My purchase of the RX 350 was very good. I expected to pay more for a well maintained CPO car. My dissatisfactions concerned the trade and the extended warranty.
The dealer agreed that the ES 350 I traded was in excellent condition. The Lexus Plus method of determining trade value involves an employee performing a walk around inspection and then soliciting offers from undisclosed dealers. These dealers, of course, desire to buy cars from this dealer, so their estimates are motivated by self incentive and preservation of an ongoing relationship. Bluntly, the customer is disadvantaged by this opaque method--hence my recommendation to never trade a car to a dealer. Most people would rather learn from others' mistakes, rather than pee on the electric fence themselves! They made 30% on the trade transaction--much more than they made in your demo sale or my CPO sale.
The extended warranty was stated to be insured by CNA with equivalent terms as the remaining new/continuing CPO warranty. This implied involvement by Lexus and the dealer in event of a warranty claim. Wrong. A. Lexus forum poster questioned the extended warranty terms. After re-reading the contract and researching comments re: dealing with CNA adjusters I requested rescission. The terms were so restrictive that one could hardly think of an instance which they would cover. Repairs can be made using used or non Lexus parts. Labor rates are whatever they give you, regardless of what the dealer charges.
As they say: your mileage may vary.

Just picked up a 2017 RX350 with 25k miles almost fully optioned out (minus touch-less rear door and wireless charger options) in Pearl and absolutely love it.
This is my first Lexus and haven’t found much to complain about. I hear allot of people complain about the infotainment but I don’t mind it. I found after cranking up the haptic feedback on the controller it’s usability was DRASTICALLY improved. It has a weather map?!.
I can not wait to see how she does in the winter, those headlight washers are going to be a huge help our roads here in Alaska. I may add some supplementary lighting if needed for the dark winters up here but I wont be able to test the lights until it starts getting dark later this year.

Got this in May but forgot to post it here, 2017 RX F Sport, in caviar with red interior. All options minus HUD and 360 camera (couldn’t find it anywhere). Came from a 2001 GS430, still miss that car. They don’t make them like that anymore. Love the RX F sport with the Michelin’s. I didn’t like how hard the ride was on the Bridgestone Ecopias. For anyone who purchases an f sport and wants a softer ride, switch to the Michelin’s! Night and day difference!
