Tell us some details about your new Lexus including;
1. RX350 CPO
2. Navigation
3. Caviar and Black/Saddle Tan w/Matte
4. AWD
5. Base with 20" tires
Other details such as pictures you might have of your RX or tell us what you drove previously
Previous car was 2005 Acura TL with manual transmission. This car migrated me to the Lexus family. Feels like an old friend.
Nebula Gray/Black (would have picked a different exterior color, but bought at the worst of the COVID supply problems)
20" wheels
12.3" Nav
Heated/ventilated seats
Premium pkg (memories)
Cold Weather pkg
Moonroof
Power rear door
Panoramic View Monitor etc.
Heated steering wheel
Wireless charger
Have already swapped out a few of the incandescents for LEDs.
Would have gone F-sport if one was available.
It's been a bit of a garage queen since we acquired it a year ago (traded a '14 Audi A6 for it), but became the daily driver when I retired and sold our '16 Outback.
So we picked up our RX350L yesterday.
2019, one owner, 49k km and no accidents.
Atomic Silver with black interior, and 20" rims.
Executive package, this thing is loaded.
Coming from our 2002 Acura RL that we bought in 2007 with 25k km, it's somewhat of a change. The RL feels more like a driving machine in comparison, but I knew what we were getting with the RX. I am obviously in the honeymoon stage and can't complain about anything.
Infotainment being one of the biggest normal complaints, I'm good with it and find myself using voice commands for most needs so far. I also like the rear badge located sensor for the lift gate, especially as we plan on adding a hitch ( it has the tow package).
We originally started to look at the L version because of the little bit of extra interior
cargo space, and once I realized the L is built in Japan I had tunnel vision for it (not trying to start that debate, our Acura was a J vin as well and in 16 years and 100k km it has never let us down or cost us much in maintaining)
The luxury with reliability and safety has us wooing over it, and I suspect it'll be a few months til the Christmas morning feeling starts to fade.
I've already learned a fair bit from this forum and appreciate all the knowledge that members contribute, much love folks and looking forward to learning more and eventually contributing myself when I know anything worth contributing.
Just picked up my 4th Gen RX
White on brown
All Nanny options
20" clover wheels
GPS, DVD player & sunroof (when in doubt always get the pana)
Pros: Generally, love the ride, performance, features & design inside and out.
Hated the 4th gen design in 2016, love it now. That grill. Somebody help !!
Am ok with the GUI and the mouse
After a couple of weeks of daily, I prefer using the features in the small screen
However:
Cons: Engine makes clackety sounds for the first minute.
Don't care for the dark interior.
Too much brown in the cabin and black in the trunk.
Interior color choices not up to par
Suspension doesn't do well with small bumps on the road
Stopped using the main screen. Covered it with an arm rest cover from IKEA
Blue tooth doesn't connect automatically
Paint job on my 3rd gen is much better
Don't appreciate the deletion of secondary features compared to 3rd gen
Takes me 2 days to replace back row of spark plugs
Personal touches added:
Painted engine shroud
Replaced interior lighting with LED's
Added bike rack & removable awning that mounts to roof basket.
Lockable ammo case under trunk floor
Triangular fog lights
Increased rear track width by 1/4"
Deleted light behind logo
Deleted RX insignia. Cleaned up the rear
Color coordinated thick pile **** carpeting. :-) It works & I don't like either OEM options
Higher CCA Die-Hard battery
Higher performance Akebono front brakes
Future upgrades:
Airplay
4k player & screens
Michelin Latitude Touring
Rear brakes
Conclusion: My last RX. I don't care for plastiicky looking '24 model and lack of V6
