Question 4RX front clearance

What do you think guys?

The illustration is not by any means perfect - though should give a hopefully good idea - but I know from the specs that front clearance angle decreased almost in half. From 28 to 17 degrees.
That's quite a lot.

I wonder how many people (including myself) will scratch their front bumpers after jumping from 2/3RX to 4RX, before they adjust
I take it as a necessary evil (and probably the engine repositioning to lower position under the hood is another reason, beside the design, of course), but still can't say I'm happy about the change… Not that it would prevent me from getting 4RX, but still…

F-Sport versions of the 3RX are lower than the 3RX you've posted so it wont be too much difference from a 3RX F-Sport and a 4RX.

Ive never scratched my bumper, even on cars like my wife's Merc C class. You'd have to be going off road (which the car isnt designed for) or tackling some bloody steep hills.

Never realized 3RX F-Sport had such a long front!
I'll be switching from a standard 3RX though (hence having it depicted), and afaik all 4RX models now have pretty much identical clearances (similar to 3RX F-S), so that'll be a noticeable difference on my side.

Thing is, back when I was driving Toyota Scion xB - same clearance angle as 4RX, as I measured - I scratched my bumper more than a couple of times Had to be pretty careful on slopes and such (roads in my area - even though it's a city - are like that, and sometimes it's hard to calculate that stuff properly). Something I learnt to not care about ever since switching to 3RX.
4RX is higher from the ground, so hopefully that'll help.

PS: Never realized how I love the new front design until I made the comparison movie. 3RX looks so dated now…
