SFocLA,

Thanks for your detailed process you went through. I live in OC and was wondering if you had any communications with Newport, Mission Viejo, Tustin, or Longo.....

I will be looking in the next 60 days for a RX for my wife. Her only requirement is RX350 with Navi...invoice is about $50k....hoping to get one for around $43-$44 plus tax and license.

I talked to Newport the sales gal she seemed very knowledgeable and professional but the inventory just was not there.

Tustin same thing but they didn't seem to be as hungry as Newport.

Longo I thought would give me the best deal considering their size but both shopping experiences I got shot down.

Again in order to find a deal it's not fair to judge the entire dealership on one shot. Back in December Lexus of Escondido/Carlsbad more or less didn't give me the time of day for a RX f sport below msrp. And now I just bought my 2nd one with them and really am happy that I met Stefani the sales rep there. Not to mention they are trying to transport the car from SD to LA for me. Moral of the story is, when you're ready start the process and open the lines of communication and just start hustling. If one day you get no luck the wait and then fire off another mass email or cars.com inquiry. In order to find deals you need patience, luck, and the right sales person. Don't waste your time with newbies, ask for Internet sales manager. Hope that helps.

Isn't that a little much for an extra year of warranty coverage and no change to the mileage. Factory is 4yr/50,000.

If I had to guess, its those extra protection packages from the dealers. Tire and wheel, molding protections...door edges, bumpers.....body side molding....blah blah.

Its very pricey...might be worth it if your car takes a massive beating in nyc streets

Is the general consensus on the 2016 RX is they are a hot commodity and dealers aren't really negotiating much? I'm trying to get my wife an Ultra White car, red interior. Pretty much only 1 in my entire state. Sticker $59,539 for 450H with options. Best I have gotten so far is $1541 plus some $550 option with tinting, edge guards, cheap stuff... I countered for $1K less, $2600 less MSRP. We'll see.

Last time I purchased my 2015 RX, I was offered right out the gate like 4-5K off MSRP in June 14' when they had a ton of 14's still on the lot!

Feels like I have no choice. Are you all experiencing the same and I should just suck it up? Or wait 4-6 months until the 17's come out and then may be cheaper.

This is pre-paid maintenance. Unlike BMW, only the 5000miles(6 months) and 10000miles(1 yr) services are free. You pay for all services after that. the major ones are at 25K and 45K miles.

Sirtig, The response from the dealer was quite the opposite. they say that the cars will start coming in much faster as the initial demand flood drops. Also, as the cars are coming from Canada, they guess that the demand will be met with stronger supplies. but either ways, good luck getting your ride.

Curtis, my opinion...if you can wait it out, you will definitely get better pricing. also there has been talks that he '17 could offer the 3rd row seat and that will move crowds to that model. I have seen a post where they are called the "L models".
Specific colors and models are hard to find. Custom builds will take time (at least 4-6 weeks).

Not a special order, but it was an order in the pipeline that was not claimed by any dealer. after my deposit, the car was booked for me. it had everything I was looking for....although I could live without the ML audio .

Reasons why the negotiating maybe harder than before
1) this is a complete resign and production is slow
2) Supply is LOW for F sport models in general and RED is very rare (I am assuming you want that because of the red)
3) In California there are only 3 White F sports w/red interior for sale as we speak to give you an idea how limited it is

My dealer confirmed beginning of 2018 will have the 3rd row, but I do agree if you wait as with anything that is new, the price will go down theoretically because the supply will be higher. But lets not forget about opportunity cost of getting a new one right now!

I suspect there is low demand and supply for F sport in general. Dealers in NY area I'd been at usually have two to four F sports available....and 20-40 total RX in stock
