I agree, this is a huge design oversight.

Just took the 4RX for an extended test drive. HUD is essentially useless when wearing polarized glasses or also looking at an off angle. I am removing it from my options list. Buyer beware.

Which HUD works with polarized glasses?

the hud projects onto the glass. And hence it's a glare off the glass inside. Polarized glasses reduces glare. saying you want polarized glasses on and see the hud is like saying i want rain but i don't want to get wet.

Solution....stop wearing polarized sunglasses. Or buy one without polarized option.

Besides HUDs is more usefull for night time driving.

While we are still talking about HUD. Does anyone know if my HUD is rendered useless if I tint the front windshield with a product like LLumar Air 80?

Something must have changed with the HUD design. I have HUD on my 2013 RX and it works fine with polarized sunglasses. I do have to adjust the brightness higher when using them though, i.e., less bright when not wearing the glasses during the day. No adjustment needed at night.

That's not a solution, that is a poor workaround. There are numerous benefits to polarized glasses which is why people buy polarized glasses.

I have polarized sun glasses and while it does somewhat dim the HUD display, I can still plainly read it. If I tilt my head about 25 degrees the HUD seem to fade almost completely. It is quite usable for me on my 2016 RX350

Sounds similar to what I experience on the 2013 RX. Does the 2016 have an adjustment to move the images up and down on the windshield? A brightness adjustment? 2013 has both.

Yes. You can adjust for height and brightness.

Great. Should be no problem with HUD then!

The only problem I have with it is that it displays the speed limit for the road you are on right next to your "actual speed"

I just check with full brightness you can still see the hud but dimmed faintly as i normally like it. But taking off the glasses and it will be super bright. So either adjust it back after you take the glasses off or just leave it as you normally like it.
