I discovered, quite by accident, that once you unlock the doors you have 60 seconds to open the door or it will relock. I unlocked the vehicle in the garage , started to do something else when I heard the car lock and saw the side mirrors retract. I was convinced that I had somehow changed a setting or it was magic. After checking the owner's manual I found out what happened. Seems like a good safety feature to me.

Yes, it is a great safety feature, especially if you accidentally hit the unlock button on the remote. I do believe that setting can be changed in the infotainment menus. Enjoy!

You are correct, but it’s a new feature to those that have come from outside Toyota. Some makes have it, but not all. I think it’s becoming standard for most now.

My 1997 Mitsubishi has that auto re-lock feature, as well as my 2001 Honda CRV LX. I think any vehicle with remote unlock will have this feature.

Not true. Gm doesn't have this on my 2 vehicles.

My 2007 Corolla has it and when I (remote) unlock in advance so that my kids can hop in before I do, sometimes they get to locked doors because they took too much time.

Question Auto Folding Mirrors to Close when RX is turned off?

For the life of me, I can figure out something as simple as reprogramming my 2017 RX450h to fold the mirrors when I turn off the ignition instead
of when I lock the car? I spoke with my service rep at Pohanka Lexus in Chantilly Va. today and they said there's no way to program it to do that
however, there's a procedure to simultaneously press the right/left mirror buttons then the auto button to make a 2016 450h do that.

I just can't believe no one has figured out how to do this except to buy a Calista OBD2 and pay the $9.99 subscription fee just to make this minor
change. Why would Lexus even make the default that? It seems counter intuitive. ugh.

You don't have to program it! There's a button on the driver's door by the window buttons!

I think you misunderstand. I want the mirrors to fold in when I turn off the RX, not when I lock it. I don't see any button that will do that. Only "Auto", manual
open/close and the mirror arrows. Auto just folds in the mirrors when I lock or if I turn off Auto, the mirrors stay out. Am I missing something?

This is a setting the dealer must program for you. Next time you are in for service they can do it pretty quickly.

Just to add what CaliTravel said:
:
48. Automatic Mirror Fold/Extend

Automatic mirror folding and extending operation can be programmed as follows:

□ Linked to operation of the engine switch = ACC
□ Linked to the locking/unlocking of the doors (Standard) = Door lock □ Off
* If equipped
I had it done, love it.

The last entry, number 48, is that what you're after?
