I was going to say the same thing last week, but knew most here would say it's placebo effect.
Smooth and more responsive almost immediately.
Costco fuel 93 seems to be worth it.
2017 FSport awd.
I had my first Tank fill in RX 350 from Costco and can clearly feel the difference with Grade 93. The RX is running much smoother and is more responsive ...
Addtemp & kent2174 glad I'm not the only one! I too think that it runs better & smoother with 93 or 95, 91 being the absolute MINIMUM.
Ok, you guys convinced me. I will fill up my next tank with 93oct and see if I feel any difference.
Just curious though, what exactly feels smoother? Does the engine seem smoother or the way
the transmission is shifting.
Personally I have no problem spending the extra money if there truly is a difference. To be honest I am
Suprised that an engine with this compression ratio is tuned for 87oct.
I
Just picked up my RX450h this weekend. I'm all about following what the manufacturer recommends. There is a clear sticker on the inside of the fuel door that says "premium unleaded fuel only." I plan on following these guidelines and using Costco's premium fuel.

Congrats on the purchase! Yes, the hybrid states premium, so I would use it.
Well curiosity got the best of me so I have been using 93oct gas to see if I can notice any difference. As of now none of the annoying characteristics have changed. Still lugs and drones from the 4th to 5th gear switch. However on more than one occasion when the car was lugging I could swear I heard the engine knocking. That was on 87oct, I'll see if it happens again with the premium gas.
After 3 tanks of premium (91) and several hundred miles of driving, this is what I noticed in the RX350:
-engine runs smoother, less vibrations
-when accelerating, the "drone" many people mention is almost eliminated
-hesitations seem less; engine is more responsive, but acceleration is the same (no noticeable power increase).
I'll switch back to regular (87) after this tank and run it a few weeks and see if the things I noticed were real or not.

I am having very hard believing such reports. If someone filled up the tank for you (and you had no idea what was in the tank) and did it several times, and collected your impressions then perhaps I would be a believer. By the way, results might be very surprising from such 'blind' tests.

Could not agree more. The dealer fills your tank with regular for delivery, so even they do not follow Lexus recommendations. I have used regular in all of my Lexus and doubt I would notice any difference. It is the oil companies that perpetuate this.
Does anyone know if the 2020 RX f sport requires premium gas? I’ve read where regular unleaded can be used in the 2019 RX f sport but I was watching a video recently and the reviewer stated that the manufacture recommended premium in the 2020.
I just bought a RX 350 F 2020. The day I have pickEd it up from the Dealership, the person who walked me through the features of my SUV recommended me specifically that I should use only the Regular gasoline not the premium. He stated that otherwise some of the elements of its engine will get damaged. In fact, I have found a link in which it talks about the recommended fuel for Lexus. Please see the attached link:
Thank you for the information. I’ve ordered a 2020 f sport which hopefully will arrive this week. My current ‘13 RX f sport uses regular unleaded and each RX since 2013, except the hybrid, has used regular unleaded. It just didn’t make sense that the manufacturer would recommend premium now. Thanks again!
