Hmmm, i dont think our cars will let you lock from outside or with fob while the car is running. I honestly never tried. We have the remote starter so i just use that lol

I did see an improvement after a year. Not a miracle, but it went from 16L/100 KM (15 MPG) to around 12L/100 KM (19 MPG). But when I do highway (which is rarely), I get 8.3L/100 KM (28.34 MPG).

Like your said, many variables. Many conditions (we have winter and snow which is harder on gas too).

Enjoy your RX and hope the gas conception will improved.
My wife has had a hard time getting better mileage. She's been driving on ECO mode and tried to keep the Eco indicator on while accelerating. We are averaging at 13.6L/100km with 100% city driving. The only bit of good thing is that it uses regular and not premium gas...

I'm a new owner of a RX350 FSport 2 and over the last month I have been averaging 11.7 Litres per 100Km while driving in ECHO mode most of that time. I had a Toyota RAV4 (2014) before and it was averaging 10.8 Litres per 100Km. So I am very pleased with my new Lexus performance.

Default Leased '18 RX350 for 3 months... will go back after lease

My wife and I have leased this '18 RX350 for 3 months. Overall, we are please with the quality and fit n finish. The ride is good but the handling is like a boat. Our main grudge is the terrible MPG. We can only average 16.5-17.8MPG (average) between city and highway. If doing all highway, it does get better to 21-22 (but no where near 24-25). But there's just no way in hell, absolutely no way, that this car was rated for 20/27. I had a BMW 335i (twin turbo 3.0L inline 6) for 8 and a half years and that car was rated at 17/26. I got better mileage on that car (averaging 19.5mpg) than this RX350. We also left the car in ECO mode the entire time.

Anyways, that is our gripe. I'm sure many might disagree. Typically, when car companies say 20/27, we expect somewhere in between on average like 22 overall. But this car clearly should've been labeled EPA 15/24 which we think is more realistically fair.

The other problem is ECO mode is terrible. It feels like it drives in taller gears limiting the transmission's choice of using all 8 gears. Then, when you need to accelerate, your passengers get a sudden jolt because it jumps from say, 6th gear to 2nd gear and you get wheel spin. The only solution is to drive in normal mode or sport mode so that the gears don't hunt. Sport mode feels the most natural with the gear selection.

Just got back from a trip with my 2017 RX350. Averaged 26.7, mostly highway, a bit of local.

I was thinking the same thing when I first got the RX, however after about 2-3k miles the car got alot smoother even in Eco mode and now with 5-6K my wife and I are averaging 21.5-22.5 mpg all on 87 Octane from Mobil. I've tried different gas brands and Mobil seems to get me the best mileage. Gas brands I've tried so far are Chevron, Shell, Costco (All 87 octane).

I average about 26 mpg mostly highway at around 80mph 2017 rx 350

I have a 2016 RX350 FWD and use med or sometime premium grade BP or Shell gas. Driving 80 up to 90mph if passing in standard mode I get about 28 mpg. I use med or premium grade because the car responds better on the hwy. In ECO mode maybe 30 mpg according to the onboard computer.

I think California gas is bad, too diluted with ethanol .

2017 w/ 3.5K miles on it. Los Angeles commute 26 miles each way with 90% highway (traffic), I can barely get 21MPG. My 2009 RX350 was getting 24MPG with the same commute and that car was rated 18/23.

In the South where climate is mild it maybe worthwhile having car like RX4 but up in the North where winter gets really cold(as low as minus 30C is quite common), in summer time gas saving is like ~30%.
During winter month really not much saving of gas. Also AWD system is not as good as regular RX3. I had it two winters and traded it in for Audi SQ5. Not much a fun car to drive, not much of gas saving, it was no point keeping it at least in my case.

Then I came across a MB ML:550 last year model fully loaded except Designo option with clock showing less than 30K miles. Car proof is clean, serviced by local dealer regularly. I ran into wife's veto for a GX460 due to swing out tail gate but she liked the ML550. I traded My SQ5 and deal included a set of AMG wheel and winter tires, 2 years 100% coverage extended warranty on top of CPO coverage..
So it is covered until 2023 Generally later M-series seems to be very reliable anyhow. Now we have only two BMW(son's), two MB( me and wife). Audi left the coral. I could drive one of son's bimmer whenever I feel like....Both have 6MT, no problem I am the one who taught our kids how to drive with stick.

Regarding using regular gas, IMO, what is the point? when car couldn't perform as it should. Recommending premium gas has a reason. If engine is DI type, more chance of carbon problem. reduced MPG, reduced power, etc. WE only fill up with Shell premium collecting Air mile. Free car wash using Air mile, just bought a new BBQ last month using Air mile.

Here in Tampa (Florida), most gas station carry non-ethanol gas and therefore we see better mileage down here. But the gas is more expensive. Last time I filled up, it was $3.20 for 89 non-ethanol.
