4RX Mileage Thread

2020 RX350 F-Sport AWD at just under 9,000 miles. I always track every single fuel purchase on my phone.
My app is telling me that my average is 23.45mpg (10.03l/100km) with a high of 28.9mpg (8.13l/100km) and a low of 16mpg (14.7l/100km) between fillups. I typically got 20mpg combined during the winter and with pre-covid traffic. Post-covid, I've averaged 24.8mpg with a low of 20.5mpg due to the lack of traffic and more roadtrips. Overall, the RX is not bad at fuel economy considering what it is. I used to have a Subaru rated at 29mpg that could go down to 22mpg during the winters and with some traffic.
To get consistently above 30mpg, I'm guessing you would have to be cruising at a moderate speed on the highway, the temperature would have to be warm enough to lower air density, and your tires should be half used to lower rolling resistance.

Bad MPG on 2018 RX350 F sport
Hi everyone. I bought a 2018 RX350 f sport with 16k miles on odometer and have been driving it for about 2 month or so. For some reason, my mpg was always around 14 or 15(70% city and 30% highway), which was not nearly as good as what Lexus advertised. Lexus checked the vehicle and responded nothing wrong with it. Just wondering is there anyone else having this issue or there's actually a problem with the vehicle?

I am nowhere near a gentle driver (lots of highway passes, I tend to speed straight off a stop light and more than 50% of the time, I'm in Sport S/S+ mode) and I get around 15 mpg with pretty much a similar mix to you in terms of city/highway driving.

Something is wrong (way out of spec) on that car. I've consistently got 19 - 22 mpg city and 25 - 28 mpg highway mileage on my 2018 F-Sport. I have only used Top Tier rated gasoline, and I always drive it in S+ mode. You should take it to a dealer and have them diagnose it -- probably something to do with the fuel injection system.

What kind of a driver are you (be honest)?

I'm almost 100% city driving (my highway route - Gardiner during rush hours - is pretty much the same as city). I consistently get 14.2-14.4L/100km which is ~16 mpg. All Normal mode.
Those of you getting 20+ mpg must have some wide open roads or doing mostly highway (normal smaller town highway, not congested mega-city highway)

I did a trip from columbus to toledo and back to columbus today. MPG was 22.4 mpg with regular gas on Normal mode. Wasn't heavy on the accel and going 80mph on freeway. not sure how people get 26mpg average. do people calculate old fashion way filling up gas, then dividing that by miles, or rely on MPG gauge.

There is no real freeway for most of the trip that you took from Columbus to Toledo and back (well, maybe a piece of I-75) -- if I took it easy on the throttle I would expect to get 23 mpg in that kind of trip. I took a trip from Dayton to Chicago last year -- all freeway, using radar cruise control most of the time. I hit over 27 mpg., measured at fillup. It is possible, but not easy, and you won't get that hot-rodding.
