I am currently ordering a 450 f sport in silver/red but the dealer said they are waiting for their build slot. They do have 2 450 f sports in white and nebula with red interior coming in with the options I want. The cars are being built in January and coming in by 3-4 weeks after that.

Question: is it possible to have them just change the exterior color since it is specced as I want. Dealer said not possible.

Thoughts?

 

What do you mean change the exterior color? Do you want them to paint it another color?

 

Is it possible for an upcoming build to be built in January to be switched from Neb gray (which is the allocation) to Silv lining (which is my order) which will save me time since my build slot is later than this one?

 

My understanding from a couple of past orders is that once it's submitted by the dealer which occurs on a specific frequency and date (i.e. monthly, mid-month for my dealer), that vehicle's specs cannot be altered. I suspect it's how they organize builds based on grouping similar options, paint color, etc. Unfortunately you'd have to wait it out or switch to the ones coming sooner - White or Nebula.
