I received back my 2017 rx350 (fwd) from the dealer with the exhaust center pipe assembly fix applied. I was also there for the ICS recall, 15K service and an ongoing janky transmission shifting complaint. (I've had complaints about the transmission hunting/shifting and the drone since day one, however it had had recently become much more noticeable to me and all occupants in the car). I can see the updated center pipe, but don't know if they ever previously scanned/connected to the ecu to see if the transmission flash was done (per the VIN it was always relayed to me as such).

Complete night and day difference. I couldnt be more (surprised) pleased to have this fixed and now have the RX that shifts/sounds like our old 2002, 2007, 2011 & 2015 used to do.

I bought RX 350 2017 (20 inch rims ) in begining i thought i left a window open...!!I s a loud road noise ...I vent to lexus dealer ...after 24 hours they called me to pick up the car and told me nothing is wrong with tbe car...!!?? This is normal...My wife keep telling me ..for me it is not a problem ..I know that is from the tires ....DOES any body has that problem ???

With the limited info you provided, it could be almost anything. Is it exhaust noise, an air leak (from a door or window), tire noise? Does it only happen at certain RPMs? Take a short video & post it.

Did you go out for a drive with a senior technician - that's what I would do and show them what the problem is.

I called and spoke to my service writer. Only had this 2016 for a month. Asked about replacing the pipe. He said bring it in Monday and he will replace it. Love my dealership

Has anyone tried applying dynamat to the floor board? I have had the TSB completed 2 times and both times the drone came back.

Had the new pipe replaced a week ago. Nice and quiet. Writer did say if it didn’t work to let him know. We are very happy.

Hi All, I just got my new RX350 this week. This is the first V6 vehicle for me. I found some sound when the engine at 1500 RPM. The sound is louder than 2000 RPM and the sound at 1500 RPM has many base. If it passes 1500 the sound is better. Is that normal? Or I need to check with dealership?

It looks like a drone noise only at 1500 RPM. Do you know if it is normal?

Oh man, it's even happening on the 2019? You would think they would resolve all TSBs. I guess if you don't complain they push it out as normal.

Eric, the droning noise you hear happens with quite a few RX350 vehicles, but there is a fix that might help you.

Return it to the dealer and ask them to install the center exhaust pipe TSB to reduce the droning noise.
