Ours never works. I've just given up on it.

Guys, get the dealership to show you how it works or get the sensitivity adjusted. Getting the sensor to work every time is not rocket science.

Just hover your hand/elbow/head 0-2 inches near the top half of the emblem for 2 seconds (with your keys in your pocket!!) - works every time unless you got a broken sensor. If that doesn't work, post a video and we can tell you whether it's broken or you're doing it wrong.

I went to costco today. Hands full with a large box. I used my elbow, forearm, and pressed it against the sensor. Boom, it opened.

It took me a while to get it working. As long as the body part is hovering over the top portion of the emblem it should open.

While our rear door works as expected, at Costco I prefer to open hatch with key fob about 50 feet from car while pushing cart.
That way I don't need to wait 5-7 seconds for hatch to open.

Funny haha, even with one box I use a cart, since I always park far far away from other cars not to get dinged.

lol. I hear you. That's why I get there 30 min early and I park in this one extra large spot. haha. If that spots not there I park MUCH further lol. It's good exercise and prevents any dings!

You just lost all your credibility, that's impossible, no one goes to Costco and walks out with 1 box!!!

Default Touchless closing of hatch

[QUOTE=aznkorboi;9929155]I literally use it when I have my hands full. I'm 6'3 so my elbow is perfect./QUOTE]
But what about when you arrive at your destination and unload something from the hatch with both hands. There is no way to close the hatch unless you put down your load to close it by the button or the key fob, or put away your load and return close enough to operate the door close function using the key fob.

My sensor works, but not reliably. If your body is too close, it won't work. I just lay my hand (or elbow) on the top of the emblem. This is one option that I would not buy again.

Here is my trick:

My boot is open all the way maxed out. So, I put my boxes or what not at the edge of the trunk space, double press the close trunk button which also automatically locks it, and quickly grab my giant box before the door closes. At 6'3, with the trunk open at its highest I have never bumped my head.

hahahhaa.

The wife left the refrigerator door open so the eggs, egg whites, milk, spoiled. I just went to costco a few days ago and had to buy those things again haha. But yes, I'm usually bringing at least 3 boxes worth of food.
