Tuna
Great combo on the clear bra and ceramic coat over the entire can, great combo. I had it done on my LC500 and will have it done on the Mrs, new RX350L.
It make the paint POP! Easy washing as well. Njoy

Oops, should have mentioned that I'm in Southern California. So yeah, I'm looking for a shop that will do a great job with the wrap in the Los Angeles area. 2020 RX 450h. Thanks

Just now getting some Yelp quotes back. I specified only 1/3 hood, side front fenders, and headlights. One guy quoted between $1000 and $5000??? I called and ask him to narrow that down. Apparently he thought the whole hood and after correcting for only 1/3 hood, the price settled on a ballpark of $2500??? Let's see, around $400 retail for the material and let's say two hours (spitballing here) for the install, that makes $1,050 per hour. OK, let's say it takes 4 hours - so $525 per hour. It gets even better. The next guys' quote came in at between $4000 and $5000. This must be miscommunication and he was probably thinking whole car wrap, or he was thinking I just came off the boat. If this is the going rate and these guys are booked, then I will open up a wrapping business so I can pay cash for my next house on Mulholland Drive. A bit frustrated here if you can't tell.
Edit:
Couple more quotes came in, this time more reasonable. Two at between $1000 to $1,500.

Like everything else, prices are increasing faster than one's ability to comprehend the inflation. I was planning to film the front end as you are doing. I am likewise perplexed on the pricing and am rethinking my priorities. I just might live with the stone chips and pock marks.

How long did it take to wrap the front fenders, full hood, mirrors, and headlights? These shops in and around Los Angeles are charging an exorbitant hourly rate? At these rates, I'll buy the material and install it myself. Even if I totally mess it up the first time around, I'll still have enough money left over to try a second and even a third time. I should probably either forget it or bite the bullet, but these rates are criminal.

I did install a whole front end wrap on my last Lexus Rx on my own. It wasn't a bad job at all. It probably took me 2-3 hours but I took my time and did a good job. It looked great when I was finished. I ended up keeping that car for 10 years and it still looked fine when I sold it although it did have nicks and bugs on the wrap.
My original intention was to protect the front end and then take it off to sell the car hoping it would look like a new front end. After 10 years though I was afraid to take it off thinking the paint may even come off partially with it. I did remove the small pieces on the mirrors which was a real pain and decided to stop there. In the end, the nicks and bugs on the wrap material didn't look any better than it would have with exposed paint. I don't think I gained anything from it. When I replaced the car with a new Rx, I easily decided not to waste my money on a new wrap. The wrap was probably just a waste of money for me even if it just cost me the price of the material with no labor charge,

When I traded it for my Atomic Silver 2022 RX F-Sport, I removed the plastic from just the mirrors and door handle cups and decided not to go any further even though there were definitely some nicks in the plastic covering the front. When I saw the NX on the lot for sale by the dealer a few days later the nicks and plastic were still there.
I've decided to do something fun with the $$$$ I would have spent to get the new RX covered.

Hi all, finally pulled the trigger and put a deposit on a brand new RX. Taking delivery soon. I was wondering if PPF is worth doing? I was quoted 3k by a very reputable detailer-includes Full hood, Front fender, Mirrors, Front bumper, Headlights, rear bumper. Xpel ultimate plus paint protection film.
Is that price a bit much? I plan on keeping the car for at least 10 years. Thanks!

My information is now 4 years old, so ...
I got the front third of the hood and the fender fronts covered for about $800, by the dealer on delivery. It was the first PPF I had ever bought, and I'll never buy a new car again without it. But I don't see the value in covering lights and mirrors -- those are replaceable modules. 2 cents' worth.
