Remote start with just the remote!!

pretty sure the three press works on 18 and later MYs. It never worked on our 17RX, it works every time on my 19 ES.

Three press remote start is still working on my 2018, and I never subscribed to Enform.

As I understand the various Lexus trial subscriptions, different model years have different trial durations. Fellow member mcomer can clarify this, but I can confirm the remote start was only a 3 year trial on the 2019 ES and the 2021 RX. I renewed my 2019 ES last summer and I see the “subscriptions” area of the Lexus app show it is up again for renewal next July. For the 2019 model year ES the Safety Connect subscription/trial is ten years - but all subscriptions for the 2021 RX were three years. Again, every model/year has unique trial/included durations. All these trials and subscriptions can be verified in the app.

I just got my new 2022 last week and I tried this today. At first I couldn’t make it work, and I remembered a Highlander I had that was hard to use the remote start from the key fob. The third try it worked! It’s hard to get the sequence perfect - it’s touchy!

The 3 touch works on my 2020 Rx and I have never paid for my expired Enform subscription. You have to hit the lock button twice and then hold it down the 3rd time. You can the shut down the engine by hitting the unlock button.

2022 , works, but is temperamental. Have to hold the third press for 5-7 seconds.

Same for my 2018, an IS300. I bought it as a Lexus Certified and my Enform trial subscription ended over a year ago. I never payed the extortion for the service afterwards.
It did take a couple of times to get the timing right. I found that it's easiest to simply watch the lights on the car; if the lights don't blink on your key press, it seems like your key press does NOT count. I also had to hold down on the third press for at least 5 seconds. I've only tried it from distances of less than 50 feet (15.24m) with direct line of sight.

It works on our 2022 RX450h but the moment I open the door the car shuts off, so it's not useful IMHO.
