I am just hopeless with doing stuff like this and wanted the dealer to do the work (for warranty and liability reasons). But $800 is just ridiculous.

The Lexus one. FitCamx Dash Cam Model B that is $168. I will head to Cartoys next and see how much for the ThinkWare U1000 installed.

fitcamx is not lexus parts just a aftermarket parts.i think theres a lot of video shows you how to install it. i took mybe 30 min? the hard part just popping ur sos panel out

Found a car alarm/stereo installer on Craigslist and he did my FitCam front and back for $150...done and done.

After recently buying a 2016 RX350 fully optioned luxury model, I was a little surprised and disappointed to see there are no rear illuminated door sills, or even the 'Lexus' logo on them, just a blank silver plate!
Compared the front ones that light up, and compared to other way older Lexus models that had all 4 light up, it makes the car look unfinished and feels cheaper, almost like blank aftermarket sills where used as an after thought.

I've looked all over the internet and I am surprised there are no JDM ones that I could find either. Even if the rears didn't light up it would still look way better to have the Lexus branding on them in my opinion.

Anyone else feel the same?

theres a thread somewhere where a member custom made a pair but other than that i havent seen any. I agree that it should have some.

I got the sills for the front and the color doesnt match my interior. They only come in brown or black so i guess the rx has a few different shades of black.

Any one out there changed there door sills to Lexus OEM Luminated Sills? Are these Plug and Play? How was the install? Anything I should be careful off? Any tips or suggestions will be appreciated.

I installed mine on a 2022 450H,very easy. Pull up the old sill, there is a plug there to attach to the new ILL sill. Just be careful you don't pinch the wires when installing the new sill.

I had the same experience swapping in illuminated sills in my 2020 RX350.

We bought a 2017 RX350 a two weeks ago and I'm planning a couple of things to get ready for a road trip in September. The main thing is to add front and back dash cams with parking protection. You can buy a USB-C wiring kit for them that plugs into the fuse box.
I'm guessing you need a 12v source that stays on even when the ignition is turned off. Has anyone installed something like this?
I wired up my Mustang for dual radar detectors and a CB back in the 90s by tapping three unused fuse spots, so I guess it's probably similar.

Edit: I came across a mention of a 'Lexus Integrated Dashcam' that apparently can be plugged in to an existing spot in the overhead lighting pod. Does this work on the RX and is it worth it over an aftermarket dash cam?
