Reverse lights LED upgrade

^ so, the JDM ASTAR lights aren't recommended now?
they seem too bright and may not be DOT legal? I wonder what it looks like when driving. i.e., are other drivers blinded by the lights?

The ones on the ebay link says there not compatible with the 2017 RX. But you had no problems with them? They do look great!

I ordered and installed 8 different sets of replacement led's. These were the best. The large number of individual led's spread out over a larger area, and on both sides makes for a wider spread of the light. The LEDs that had only a couple of ultra bright led's did not give as good light. There was a smaller bright spot looking at the fixture than with these flat lights. I also liked the way they were built on a heat sink. The other lights with only a few super bright led's got a lot hotter a lot faster than these. The same lights can be found on eBay for a few bucks cheaper. The same bulbs can be found in Amber which I am going to try for the turn signals on a couple of other cars.

Came back to this thread to finally do the upgrade. Mikenunb, any problems since the install? Comparing all the bulbs in this post, your choice seems to "spread" the light better.
Thanks for your post.

Nogee. The lights have been working perfectly with no problems whatsoever. They give a bright, wide light while backing up. I examined one of them a few days ago and there is no evidence of heat damage to the socket or the surrounding fixture or lens. These are a great solution to the cheap, dim, incandescent bulbs that for some unknown reason, Lexus chose to use for backup lights.
