Little late but just invade you haven't figured it out I would look into checking the antifreeze level sometimes when its low on some cars you will get that gurgling in the dash

I would agree the transmission shift points / default mode are suboptimal. I think I've gotten used to it. If it bothers me I put it in S+. This is the only thing I have noticed in 1400 miles.

Yeah I feel alienated during the regular driving mode transmission shifts (very odd sometimes), but in sport mode I was able to peel out out this morning.

Once it warms up fully, Normal mode driving becomes acceptable and it's smooth again. I'm wondering if the people who are affected the most by this drone/lag are those with short commutes (< 15 min). For now, if the tranny does bog, I just switch to Sport mode, and that take cares of it for a bit. Ah the joys of first-year models...

One thing I've noticed is that prior to the engine/transmission fully warming up (usually around 10 mins in the morning); the tranny bogs down in Normal mode, and I get the dreaded drone, especially around gears 3-5. It's almost like the increased revs when the engine tries to warm up is conflicting with the tranny logic of wanting to upshift and keep the revs down.

Our 2017 RX350 has been near perfect so far / 12000km. The only issue we faced is related to a squeak in both the passenger and driver door when the outside temperature goes above 110F in direct sunlight. I resolved this myself, by removing the door panels, and adding some foam under the panel where it meets the A-pilar.

2016 Rx 350 Reliabilty in Question
In Oct 2018 I had 1/2 of the AC go out. Dealer did a servo reset and problem was resolved but only after I took a 5 hour trip for vacation with the working AC side set to 67 degrees to cool the car (sorta.) Get back from vacay and go 70 miles one way to dealer and they fix for free as it is under warranty. 4 months later, I get a 'Drive control" error. Can't drive the vehicle. Had to have it towed to dealer 70 miles away. Bad cell on battery- they changed battery. It was still under warranty. Dealer gave -0- assistance in getting the vehicle back to me so I had to get a friend to do a 140 mile round trip with me to get it back. I am beginning to see the value of not buying a car in its 1st year of redesign. I have a little over 1 year left on basic warranty. If I have trouble warranty will cover but the 140 mile trip is a bummer. I am thinking of selling it for something that has a dealership in my hometown. 2016 RX 350 with 18,000 miles - should be diamond solid reliable. Not working out that way. Anyone having an inordinate amount of trouble with their 2016 Rx 350?

My 2016 RX350 has just turned 24000 miles and has required no repairs. The only item related to first year production was an update to the transmission software which was done at the regular 10,000 mi inspection.

Sorry to hear but the stealer should have given you a loaner car. I got loaner car every time for services or warranty related issues. It seems like it's that particular dealer problem. Lexus usually have great dealer services for the prices we pay.

the dealer is 70 miles away, car towed, how would a loaner help ?? customer needs to go 70 miles to get the car,
those bold highlights contradict, don't they
