Looks like they went overboard on the pre delivery detail. Like to much vinyl protectant.

Yea let the dealer handle it. Seems like someone went wrong in some kind of coating.

My dad had the same issue on his...he took it in and they took care of it, no questions asked.

Good to know I'm not the only one -- was it an easy fix? My concern is that this is somehow related to the melting dash issues they had some years back but hoping it is just an OD of vinyl protectant as others have suggested.

I had the same problem with mine as well. I thought it might have just been someone at the dealership that over applied vinyl protectant. I just cleaned it up myself.

Yep, I've got this too on a 450h. I thought perhaps it was an isolated defect created by dealership. Not so. Yes, I'll expect dealership to address it. I would like dealership to note it in service history.

I have not heard the gurgling sound in the 450h, but when we took the 450h in for the brake noise issue they gave us a 350 loaner and sure enough we both heard the gurgling noise.

I had something similar. The dealership was able to clean most of whatever it was off but it is not perfect. Not sure what to do at this point. I can complain to Lexus and probably get the Dealership to replace the dash, but I don't want the dash torn up to address this small issue.

Does anyone know what steps are involved in replacing the section above the instrument cluster?

Where this sound coming from? Under dash? Driver side or passenger side?

I am not sure where the sound was coming from, best guess was engine compartment area, lower driver side? But I didnt focus to much on it as it was a loaner AND others had mentioned here, sorry.

Brought the car in today. They had about four different people look at it including the service manager and shop foreman. So far they think that something hot was placed there during the vehicle prep but they are keeping the car there for further diagnosis. They assured me they'll do what it takes to get it looking new.
