Default 4RX wins 5-Year Cost to Own Award

Best Luxury Mid-Size SUV/Crossover: 2016 Lexus RX
http://www.kbb.com/new-cars/5-year-c...suv-crossover/

The Lexus RX is all-new this year, and the recipient of our Best Buy award for luxury SUVs. But it's not just our kudos elevating it to best-in-class 5-Year Cost to Own status. Rather, it's built on the reputation the RX brings after nearly 20 years of first inventing, then leading its class. Over time, its winning combination of luxury, reliability and quality has proven nearly unbeatable in its segment.

The all-new Lexus RX offers more of everything. It boasts new technology designed to make driving safer, and adds the high-tech element demanded by today's luxury car market. On the luxury front, it offers nicer leather, better fit and finish, and an overall sense of refinement that surpasses its predecessor, which was already class leading.

But the thing the new Lexus RX has that its predecessor never did is as obvious as the nose on its face. This luxury SUV has character, from its "floating" roof to its "spindle" grille, the Lexus RX is one of the most eye-catching luxury SUVs on the market today. That goes double if you opt for the RX F Sport model, which boasts a grille restyled to emphasize its size, plus other visual touches that distinguish it from other RX models.

The Lexus RX is available with either a 295-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 powering the front or all four wheels, or a 308-horsepower hybrid version of the same engine. Either way, power is never lacking, and the hybrid augments its performance with up to 31 mpg in the city, outstanding fuel economy for a vehicle this size. Amazingly, the 2016 Lexus RX doesn't cost too much either, with a front-wheel-drive model starting at about $43,000, and a front-wheel-drive hybrid roughly $53,000.

It is not 395 HP.
It is 295.
Your cut and paste has a typo.

The website itself made a mistake by stating 395, it wasn't OP's fault.

The OP does own one and could have easily picked up the error just like I did.

No worries.

Comfort is subjective. I too drove both before buying and found f sport much more comfortable. Seats and handling were the main reasons for us to choose

It depends on body size, shape, weight and mainly what everyone calls comfortable for them.

Not that I don't think it's deserving of an award here, but it seems a little silly to give a 5 year cost of ownership award on something so new. I mean... this award is just based on assumptions isn't it? We can't possibly KNOW what a car less than 1 year old will cost for 5 years.

Depreciation curves are basically all assumption, so are (in the simplest terms possible) financial trading. This award is based on the assumption that if the past generations of this vehicle has been able to pull in X amount of dollars why not this generation. Makes all the owners, Lexus, and dealerships feel warm and cozy inside.

I think with this award, Lexus has got the RX and GX on a 5 year cost own award lockdown, which is great.
