Default 2017 RX Build Start Date and Changes

Hello all!
Looking into getting my first Lexus RX350. Coming out of a 11 Grand Cherokee, tired of American made problems. Would like to order a 2017 since I won't be purchasing until July-August. Any information circulating about when 2017's will start being built? Thanks so much for the help.

Just a heads up, but I think the RX350 that you order over here will be made in Canada.

Will the 2017 have Apple CarPlay?

Lexus doesn't currently offer CarPlay on any model.

Default When will Rx350 2017 model be available in US?

Hi,

Is there any information regarding 2017 model release date? I plan to buy rx350 but not sure whether I should wait a few months to check out new model. I'm always excited about new car technology.

Thanks.

lol.

Based on the trends of new release models the 2016 model has the latest technology.

Secondly, the only upgrades you may see are very minor, SUPER minor as in not worth it to wait.

Look at the NX, the year after the release I think all they added was apple play or siri integration.

It's a brand new model, don't get your hopes up friend.

I think I remember reading that buildout of the 2016s would be between weeks 26-30 of this year.. so figure a couple weeks for changeover... 2017 build will start probably in August, units will start to hit our lot in September is my guess.

I wouldn't expect any changes of note; the 2016 was a complete redesign.

The only change in the 2017 as I was told by the dealer is that they will have the option for a Qi Charger in the US. That option was pulled out of the 2016s. If you have an ipone, this addition doesn't matter as Qi chargers only work on androids.

I kinda want this... I wonder if the wiring is in place and we can just buy the part and replace it on the 2016.

Did the dealer mention when new model will be available?

That would be pretty slick. I don't have wireless charging anymore after moving to the Nexus 6P, but the thought that automakers might be building it in makes me happy regardless.

The only thing I'm waiting for in 2017 is the 3rd row seat so I can have as much room as my Highlander.

Per news below, it might be 2018 model.

Lexus General Manager Jeff Bracken confirmed to Automotive News at the New York auto show on Wednesday that the vehicle would go on sale in late 2017 or early 2018

Yup, you're right. It should be available for me when my lease is up, but I guess it won't make it as a 2017 model

Qi also works on a good number of Windows Phones either by design or with a replacement back cover. I have Qi on my Lumia Icon and it is wonderful. Will be even better to have it in the car.... No more fussing with charging cords... So archaic 😁
