I am thinking to special order a 450h fsport. I can not find one locally.

The dealer said it will take about 4 months and at that time 2017 may be coming out.
The worst part is that no discount for special order, which means if I special order now, I will get a car one year old and no discount. That is not good.

so, 2017 will coming out in the middle of 2016?

then, should I wait 2017?

In my opinion,

you are always going to be waiting.

Compare the NX 2015-2016 models. Nothing really changed.

If you really want something just get it! You could wait till August or September maybe tell the dealer you want the 2017 model right when it comes out and if you could pre order that one if you want something special?

For us we wanted it full loaded so we special ordered it. Just make sure the build sheet is correct before and during.

But it is up to you! In reality, might as well wait for the 2018 model

Well the issue as I see it, If I`m paying full price I want to maximize my time with the vehicle while its still current. In that case I guess waiting for 2017 is not bad idea.

However couple of ideas:

1) Search if anyone has an earlier allocation. With a full price order I doubt too many dealerships will give you the run around for a quick sale without any bargining

2) nothing will change between MY and my guess the earliest we can see 17s will be late October Early Nov.

If your dealer told you that no discount for special order then I will be going to different dealer. They are trying to get most out of you. Many dealer work with you on special order price. Also you not going to see 2017 in 4 months from now, more like 8 to 9 months. I had my 2016 RX special ordered and waited 2-1/2 months and I got discount.

I ordered mine special order on Dec 1 and they gave me a bigger discount than if I had bought one then off the lot.

I am not a waiter and could not wait for 4 months. I told my dealer o find the most equipped black 2WD 4RX and put my name on it. Just took a couple of days and I am driving off the lot!

The 2017 is NOT going to come out mid 2016. It just recently came out. They're going to milk this re-design as long as they can. You won't see the 2017 until the D2R event.

You missed the February order deadline, so 4 months from March...puts it at late July.
