Default "Hop Up" versus 3RX

Wife has a 2015 RX and I have the (even) new(er) 2016. How much higher is the "hop up" to the driver's seat? The stats say the 4RX is an inch higher than the 2016, but it's not clear that this means the hop up is that much (or more or less) higher.

EDIT: Also, how much higher, if any, is the "hop up" on the 4RX with the base 18 inch wheels vs the 20 inch optional wheels?

I just went from a 2013 with standard wheels to a 2016 with 20" wheels and I haven't noticed that it is any harder to get in. They put lower profile tires with the bigger wheels, I believe, so it should not affect ride height. I am 5' 9", if that helps give perspective.

I am only 5-10 and the idea of having to hop up is hard to imagine. I simply put my right foot/leg in first and slide in.

I'm 5-4. I can't tell any difference from my 15 that had 19 in wheels. It's really no different than getting in my car.
My husband had a GX awhile back. Now that was a hop-up.

No difference to me. I have a 2016 RX350 and had a loaner 2015 RX350 for the day on Friday. Hop up was about the same. Both years have easy ingress/egress. The 2016 is much quieter on the freeway and is a little better at soaking up road imperfections. Other than those two things, I was impressed with the 2015 loaner with 18,000 miles.

Is there a place where I can get definitive numbers?

Are you talking the height from the ground to the seat? Since you have both, couldn't you just measure them?

IMO even going by the stats the OP mentioned, if the 4RX is 1" higher then the 3G RX I don't think you would even notice the difference. I recently sat in a couple of different 4RX's and noticed no difference in "hop-up" from the 3RX. Actually, I never even thought about it until I read this thread.

You may be the only one here who has both models at the same time... maybe you could measure and provide the answer for us?

I went from a 3GX with 19" wheels to the 4RX luxury package with 20" wheels. It is slightly higher step in height, but I can't say exactly how much. The 4RX FSport suspension is lowered just about an inch from the base 4RX according to Lexus.

Not sure where you got this info from but there is no height difference. Although he RX has bigger 20" wheels, it makes no difference to the height and also, the profiles of the tyres are exactly the same as the 3RX on 19 inch wheels.

2015 RX 350 F-Sport - 235/55R19
2016 RX 350 F-Sport - 235/55R20

2016 is about 25mm diameter bigger

Yes the tyres are different but the sidewall height doesnt change as the width and aspect ratio are the same

2015 Lexus RX height with roof rails is 67.7 inches

2016 Lexus RX height without roof rails is 67.7 inches!!

Its exactly the same height! This basically means that they've lowered the suspension slightly to make way for the larger wheels.

However it should be noted that the seat can be lowered much more in the 4RX compared to the 3RX so it may actually be easier to get in to be honest!

Same overall height doesn't make floor or seat height same thought.

Yes but seat height is adjustable so thats irrelevant unless you put the seat height on the 4RX to its lowest which is actually lower than the 3RX.

Actual step in height is no different. The car is on the same platform which has just been elongated. Its exactly the same in terms of stepping in height and overall height

Can you explain why I hit my head more often in the 2016 than the 2010-2012?

Ouch...
