The hitch is not included, that wording seems strange. The tow prep is 265 but the hitch is additional, another 650$

The 2018 RX 350 brochure states that the Towing package includes:
Engine oil capacity goes from 5.4 quarts to 5.8 quarts due to the oil cooler.
My 2018 RX 350 came with a receiver hitch, but no ball.
- Transmission Cooler
- Engine oil Cooler
- HD Fan
- HD Radiator

You must have a different package than the rest of us. My window sticker states: "Towing Prep Pkg: Transmission Cooler, Heavy Duty Alternator/Radiator (does not include ball mount) $265.

Seems like a lot of confusion on what the trailer prep package affords you? To keep it simple, the prep package gets you heavy duty components like alternator/radiator, transmission oil coolers and pre-wiring for a trailer lights. But to tow any trailer, you still need the following;
from e-trailer.com
1. Trailer hitch (Curt Mfg), Either F-Sport or regular RX. $121. Extremely easy install. No cutting necessary.
2. Wiring harness to trailer. If you have tow prep pkg, it's $14. Very easy to install. Just plug it into pre-wired connector. If not, you buy the $39 version and do a little more work.
3. Receiver Ball Mount - varies in price. Typically $17-$25 for 2" model.
4 .Trailer ball - varies in price. Typically $7-$15 for 2" ball mount.
e-trailer.com has you-tube videos on how to mount the trailer hitch and the wiring harness. Easy-peasy.
I also purchased their 4-pole mounting bracket mounting and long bracket (Item # 18144 & Item # 18136) for $20. That way I mounted the 4-pole wiring plug connector to the bracket rather than leaving the plug connector dangling. Cleaner install.
I generally prefer OEM components to aftermarket. But the Curt Mfg stuff is good. It's all they do and they do it well. Take your $500+ savings and put it into your kids college fund!
Add another $200 for a Brake Controller if you plan on hauling heavy loads. It's very nice to have if you're towing 3,000+ loads and your trailer has brakes.

I have not wired the non tow-prep model. The tow-prep models connector is outside under the rear bumper. There is a video on e-trailer for tow-prep models. I assume they have a similar one for non tow-prep RX's? Or maybe download the install instructions for the wiring harness?
