When taking our first short road test-about 90 miles there and back. I could not see the navigation turns in my Head-up-display while getting on, while on and getting off the highway. It shows up on city streets but not on the interstate. This is where I have found the HUD in my BMW most useful. When driving on the interstate in an unknown area and you come to a complicated junctions it's nice to have all that in your HUD so you can react quickly. If that is not possible on the RX it loses usefulness.
Second. in the BMW when traffic or accident cause a route detour I really like to see a list of streets/road on the new route. In BMW I use voice command to ask for route list. Appanently there is no voice command for that on RX. You have to stop and use mouse on turn list since it cannot be done while moving.
Hopefully I am wrong and someone knows how to do this. I have an appointment with a Technology person at dealership tomorrow. You should never expect two features to work the same between cars is what I have learned so far, On the positive side the adaptive cruise control reacts more smoothly when a car cuts you off pulling in front of you than the BMW. Although I read on another thread that another guy thought it put the brakes on too fast.

 

I met with Tech spec and he confirmed that navigation instruction while on the highway do not show in HUD. I would like to know how to make a suggestion to Lexus to include this. They can do it on city streets so it is possible to go ahead and include highways. However I don't know who to address to make sure it gets to the right place.


Anyone else know?
