I have an appointment with Lexus of Seattle again this Saturday. The service adviser says they will look at the AC again since it sounds like there's air in it... hopefully the TSB will help even though it's for a 2016 model..

Got an update from the Lexus dealership today and they said they've been working with Lexus on this issue for my 2017 AWD RX 350. They will be replacing a pipe that was replaced on the 2016 models that had this issue. He said it was a design change, but apparently the fix to the 2016 models wasn't carried over to the 2017 model... I should have the car back in a couple days (since they need to wait for the part) but hopefully this will fix the issue.

Took my car in for 30K service at another dealership (Lexus of Santa Monica) and they asked if I have their permission to do this fix even though i never brought up the issue with them. My old dealer wasn't very proactive (Lexus of Woodland Hills)

I was too lazy and it wasn't too hot for the past two years, plus I have music on most of the time so it doesn't bother me that much.

Now as warranty comes to an end in one year I want to have this address within warranty. Mentioned it to the service advisor and he assured me that it is normal to have sound come off from the AC because it's working (hmm?)

Maybe I should try another dealership later.

I have a 2017 RX 350 and have the gurgling/hissing AC. I see the TSB was for 2016 models. Does anyone have an updated bulletin or know if this affected 2017s as well? Any details would be appreciated.

While I had mine in for this TSB, I was given a 19' MY and it also exhibited the noise, but very quietly. When I picked up my car, it was way better, but not completely gone. The noise is super quiet and I need to really be picky to listen to it. To answer your question, no, the TSB does not apply to any other years. If your car is under warranty, I recommend you ask the dealer to pull a car from the frontline inventory and compare the two. If the sound is worse in your car, they may perform the swap or at least check out the system without charging you a diagnostic fee.

My car already had the updated part listed in the TSB so in the end they called Lexus N. America about what further can be done. They were instructed to evac the system and recharge to exact settings and seems to have resolved the issue Noise gone.

I also have the gurgling sound coming from the AC of my 2017 RX. I’m not sure if you’ve resolved this issue or not but I’m going to be making a service appointment this week and will mention this to the service advisor along with the TSB for the MY16.
