What do you use for transporting your fur-kids?
Looking to travel to visit family. Want to drive my 2016 RX350 but am afraid of them (Boxer and Chow Chow) messing up my back seat. They won't fit in the back trunk.
I've been looking at the hammock style that also protects the doors. Anyone have ANY recommendations please????
TIA!!

Having had middle to larger dogs over the years I find most dogs settle down as soon as I get on the road. If you can put the seats in the down position and they will usually just lie down for stability. I would be protecting the door handle tops as their nails could do some damage. Not sure how your dogs travel but a few chew toys to keep them busy would help. I used to put treats inside toys where it would be difficult to get them out. Don't forget a bottle of water for them...sorry I had to say that!

My Dane would have slobber on everything! Windows, ceiling and back of my head!

Lexus Champion
My big dog sits in the cargo area while in the RX because I want to keep the hair he sheds from spreading to other parts of the interior. But this is what I use when he rides in the sedans:

It has side protectors to keep the doors clean.

Anybody have a dog car seat cover they love?
I am loving my new to me Lexus. Took me years to find the car I wanted. Bought it a month before the world shut down😂 I want to take my dog to parks but want to protect the seats. Do you guys have any you recommend? Does anyone know the dimensions of the back seat?
Hope everyone is staying well!

With a little modification, this back seat cover works well. Since the stock cover does not allow for seat belt fixtures except at the very back of the cover (peel back velcro), I took the cover to an upholsterer and had them cut some square holes for the RX belt connections.

There are a million for sale on Amazon. I like the one for sale on Chewy.com. Easy on and easy off, cut outs for the seat belts and machine washable. They get dirty fast so the last point is important.

I use an old bedspread for the back seat. I have a dobe & lab mix that ride in the back and after a few minutes they do settle down for the ride. I also try to keep their nails trimmed pretty short with a dremel so all I really get in the back is 'dog lips' on the back window, and some slobber that all wipes up pretty easily.
