'16 RX Loaner
Short version: Lexus hit it out of the park with the 4RX
So I'm sure I'm not telling you anything you guys don't already know, but the 4RX is an excellent improvement on the 3RX as a whole (interior, exterior, engine, etc).
A few notes I gathered after having the car for 24 hours:
-The standard bi-led headlights combined with the fogs do an excellent job of lighting up the road. Although the premium led probably aren't much of an improvement performance wise, they sure look cool.
-I'd definitely opt for the 12" nav screen. The dash was made for it and I sure missed it coming from my 4GS.
-The ventilated seats are LOUD but once you put your butt on it, you can't hear it too much and they push a lot of air so I'm happy with that.
-Infotainment system (gen 10? Don't remember which gen we're up to) is a vast improvement over the one in my '13 4GS and '15 loaner I drove a few months back. Most of the persistent bugs have been squashed, especially the slow responsive time.
-There was a very distinct rattling coming from the SOS panel. It grated on my nerves when the radio vol was low since it is so close to your ear.
-The touch free lift gate worked perfectly every time I used it. The trick is to hover over the top half of the emblem like a few have pointed out here.
-Is there any ambient lighting along the doors in the upper trim levels? I was surprised to see none, as all (I believe) recent models Lexus has debuted had some form of interior ambience.
-AC gurgling... So you all aren't just going crazy. It's definitely there. It wasn't pronounced enough that even the on 10, the radio would drown it out and I'd be ok.
-The hold feature. Why has it taken so many years for Lexus to make this a standard feature? I love it!
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my time in the RX. You all drive a fine automobile.

Thanks for the write-up. Your GS aint no slouch either. Nice vehicle!
You know you got a good one when the more you drive it the more you appreciate it and it grows on you. That is what I feel with my RX. Far as "ambient lighting" do you mean those little LEDs that are in the door handle that shine the ground? Mine has those and I think the handles have a mild light streak in them too so you can see them at night. I need to take this thing out at night to see what all it has-I've only driven it in daytime so far.

The luxury model has faint ambient lighting along the interior doors and floor. Looks very nice with my black interior. Also, the door handles have a fine line of light that comes on when you get near the car with the key.
Just enough ambient lighting to look very classy.
I love this car.

Ah, Sandy answered my question (thanks!). The ambient light really takes the interior to a new level. I love it! Not the best shot but here's a pic of the door trim ambient light in the 4GS. It's also min the footwells and around the remote touch controller.
