Oil changes maintenance Schedule

I used to use toyotaparts.bochtoyotasouth.com Very good. Good prices, just the shipping charge was a pain. But ordered everything for my RX and our 4Runner, so shipping was like $20 on $200+. Just an FYI that apparently this place sold and is now called
https://parts.nucartoyotanorthattleboro.com
I have no idea if anything changed as far as prices or customer service.
Then I had to go to local dealership for coolant (which isn't shipped) and the guy matched all of the prices online. So now I just do that. Highly recommend a real Toyota dealership or in person to avoid counterfeit parts.

Thanks.... do you have the link or the exact part number for the 10 pack for a discount buying in bulk? Or do you order one, but change the quantity to 10 during checkout. I'm not really sure the exact oil filter that will fit the 2020+ RX.

I just order 10 individual filters/washers, etc.
Again, if you have a local Toyota or Lexus dealer, you might be able to avoid shipping.

Attached is a spreadsheet that I made for my RX which includes all part numbers and service intervals. I have a 2020 but all/most of the part numbers should be the same if you have the V6
I just order 10 individual filters/washers, etc.

You can buy Toyota filters on Rockauto. $48.30 for ten, plus tax and shipping. $11 shipping to my zip code. The odd thing is you can’t locate the Toyota filter by your model info; you have to enter the Toyota part # via the part # field. Toyota # 04152-YZZA1.

After I saw this (3:40 in) I was on board with the 5000 mile interval. Lexus is not going to do anything on engine oil related failures out of warranty with the 10,000 interval. If you don't believe the Car Care Nut, search for his engine tear downs showing what happens with 100,000+ mile engines with once a year or 10,000 mile oil change intervals. If you do the recommend 5000 mile factory service intervals, spend the extra $80 for the oil change if you keep your car for years or high mileage. Go to a Toyota dealer who does inspection, rotation, and oil change for ~$120-140, still cheaper than just the 5000 service at a Lexus dealer. If you lease, or get rid of cars under 100,000 miles then keep at 10,000 miles as it will not be your problem.

I will follow the advice of the manufacturer of my vehicles and the manufacturer of my Mobil 1 10, 000 mile intervals over a guy who is purposely contrarian for YouTube clicks.

That is your right. But I will do 5k/6 months. And I have not found the CCN to be non-credible. He has made very many helpful suggestions on maintenance items which might otherwise be overlooked.

I'm with you. I've found CCN to be very useful. He and ViktorG are two excellent sources for Toyota/Lexus service and repair knowledge. Oil and filter changes at 5K-6K miles is what I am doing using OEM filter elements and Pennzoil Ultra Platinum oil.

As someone who had a Toyota transmission fail due to "Lifetime Fluid" recommended by the manufacturer, I will perform reasonable and cheap fluid service to avoid a mega expensive repair.
Toyota/Lexus will NOT pay for your new transmission if it fails, so I have no expectation of them to pay for a new engine when oil leaks or damaged cylinders show up.
Finally, I will say it (again). If you sell your car before 100,000 miles, then of course you will never have an issue with any of this. It is only if you keep your vehicles and expect them to last 200,000 miles or more do you need to properly maintain your vehicle.
CCN and Viktor have probably saved me $$$ in showing me how to do all of the basic service on my vehicle. So if my click gets them a couple of bucks, then I call that a win/win. I actually sent Viktor a few bucks after I did my plugs for $100 using his awesome video vs the $800 Lexus wants.

Motor Oil / Filter Intervals
Flow vs Filtration.
They compete with each other.
Lexus OEM Filter focuses on Flow.
Aftermarket Synthetic (sub-25 micron) focuses on Filtration.
Lexus must cover the guy who goes 10K between changes.
Therefore, Flow must take precedence as the filter clogs over time.
Sub-25 micron filters, and flow would be very restricted by 10K.
The Flow vs Filtration Test:
I change every 2.5 - 3K using a Royal Purple 20-967 sub-20 micron filter. https://filters.royalpurple.com/sing...ID=ROYAL876WEB
Now using Valvoline Restore & Protect 0W-20 oil.
According to AutomotivePress Engineer - 5K or 1 year, is the Max for long term ownership.
Head of Nissan GT-R engine development. He states every 2,000 miles.
