Yep - Main Menu, Setup, Vehicle, Maintenance and there's stacks of things you can change, oil, oil filter, coolant, air filter, even personal reminders (3 of them) like birthdays, anniversarys , whatever you type in. And you can put in a date and mileage for when the reminder is to come up.

I stand corrected. Honda's have a countdown percentage for oil life that relies on all of the above.

Can you help me find instructions to the procedure you are referring to?
I’ve searched the owner’s manual and the warranty and service guide. I can’t find anything that shows where you can change the date or mileage of the oil maintenance reminder.
I found 3 videos that show how to reset the oil maintenance reminder. All 3 show reset data only (no additional choices) .

This is 1 of the videos.

It's just like he said - Main Menu, Setup, Vehicle, Maintenance - you can't miss it.

My guess is that the maintenance minder is just a value entered by the dealer based on how often they think you should come in for an oil change. For example, here in Canada, while it says 1 yr or 16,000km (roughly 10k miles) in the manual as well, I believe there is a section in there for "Severe" Maintenance schedules, which all dealers love to set for our Canadian cars. That means every 6 months/8,000 km (5,000 miles), the oil change reminder will pop up.
The reminder intervals can be manually changed in the Maintenance settings on the Nav screen.
You're absolutely right! The 3rd option is set by the dealer, my problem is that my dealer sets it for 16,000 Km and I follow the 8,000 Km so I have to rest it every time.
Also when the message comes up there is an option on the screen to delete it or some equivalent.

It's done on the nav screen - maybe different models are different, mine's an F-Sport with the larger screen, enter the main menu there and follow as I said.

Thanks again... I did in fact find it in the Nave screen. There are many maintenance options and schedules in that area.. Very cool.

Getting back to oil changes ... 0W-20 oil only comes in full synthetic; thus, all 4th Gen RX350's take full synthetic oil and have a 10K oil change recommendation - unless your driving falls under Special Operating Conditions (aka severe service, i.e. towing, off-roading, long idling, etc...), in which case, Toyota recommends 5K oil changes.

Ha Ha. Just sold the ES350 to daughter's BF, but will continue to maintain it for him as he don't know cars much and many of the 'lifetime' parts I have bought for it are under my name. Gonna update my sig soon ...

Default Oil changes every 5k miles a overkill? Stick with 10k or 7500 instead?

Debating what to do. C

I'm doing roughly 7K. If you own and you plan to run it beyond 100K miles, probably pays to be more proactive. If you lease, who cares then.
