Loud ventilated seat fan
#76
I have a new RX 350F Sport (2021) and love the heated seat for my back, but its hot here in Louisiana and sometimes its nice to have a cooler seat. The noise it makes is horrible and for the price of the car, it seems it is unacceptable. Depending on how I am sitting (moving my head a bit) the noise is less. Has anyone else experienced this? Of course, when heated, its different and not a problem. It will be going back to the dealership for a check up, but I may also get rid of the car if it can't be improved. This is my 3rd RX in 18 years (and only bought this one b/c of an accident that caused my car to be totaled by the insurance company).
They are noisy and I can't see how it can be improved as the fan must suck the air from under the seat and send it up the seat-back through the little holes with force.

I guess another gripe I have is when I leave seat temp on Auto, when cooling turns on to max, the fan noise I hear behind my head is too loud and gives me a headache. I fan sound on low and medium is okay but high is just too loud for me, so I end up not using Auto

I agree once again with you, though the high-speed noise doesn't bother me too much...plus I love the ventilated seats since my 400h didn't have them and I tend to run warm anyways!

I also noticed that when AC is on Auto it takes few seconds for it to kick in when you start the car... And when the car is extra hot - those few seconds feel like eternity The delay is a lot less without Auto.

I second the vented seats noise - I can't tolerate even level 2, keeping them on 1 (still love the feature).

I suppose it has a lot to do with where you live & what you’re used to. I live in Texas & the outside temps are nearly always 100+ degrees in the summer. The inside temps are easily 150 degrees. I really don’t care how loud the seat fans are, I want them to cool down to below body heat levels as soon as possible. I won’t buy another vehicle without seat cooling if it has leather seats.
