Of course, when heated, its different and not a problem. It will be going back to the dealership for a check up, but I may also get rid of the car if it can't be improved. This is my 3rd RX in 18 years (and only bought this one b/c of an accident that caused my car to be totaled by the insurance company).
Did the totalled car have ventilated seats?
They are noisy and I can't see how it can be improved as the fan must suck the air from under the seat and send it up the seat-back through the little holes with force.

I guess another gripe I have is when I leave seat temp on Auto, when cooling turns on to max, the fan noise I hear behind my head is too loud and gives me a headache. I fan sound on low and medium is okay but high is just too loud for me, so I end up not using Auto

I agree once again with you, though the high-speed noise doesn't bother me too much...plus I love the ventilated seats since my 400h didn't have them and I tend to run warm anyways!

I second the vented seats noise - I can't tolerate even level 2, keeping them on 1 (still love the feature).

I also noticed that when AC is on Auto it takes few seconds for it to kick in when you start the car... And when the car is extra hot - those few seconds feel like eternity The delay is a lot less without Auto.

By design - otherwise you would get a blast of very hot air from the built-up heat in the ducts. Same when cold, the engine needs to heat up first so the air blows very gently at first, as the engine gets warmer the fan speed picks up.

I suppose it has a lot to do with where you live & what you’re used to. I live in Texas & the outside temps are nearly always 100+ degrees in the summer. The inside temps are easily 150 degrees. I really don’t care how loud the seat fans are, I want them to cool down to below body heat levels as soon as possible. I won’t buy another vehicle without seat cooling if it has leather seats.

North Florida (really south Georgia) agrees completely.

Default Loud AC noise from fans to back seats

When I turn on the AC fans to the seats there is a loud sound of rushing air to the back seats. Is this normal? It’s pretty annoying to the point I turn it off.

Yup, that's pretty much what it sounds like.

Set to TWO speed and the noise pretty much disappears. Noise is obnoxious on THREE though.

Whistle??? They make a lot of noise, they do suck hard. Only on max though and when in Auto only do it for a few minutes until they lower to a quieter setting.

It's a bit quieter than a jet aircraft engine at full throttle.
