This may not help much, but on pages 116-118 of the navigation manual is a very small paragraph on "preferences".

Sorry. If I get near a computer I'll look it up.

Yes you did.
Reread the pdf I posted for you for your other question that was in the manual.

I quickly looked at it and found it in less than 5 mins.
But it isn't as intuitive on the unit as it should be so I do understand the frustration.

When you have an actual route (anywhere will do) you can open
preferences and click on "Freeways" and also "Tollways". You
can then accept or not her choice of route. Those without a toll
transponder or a phobia about high speed travel could turn these
off to prevent ever being guided to those roads.

When you initially enter a destination she will default to "Preferred"
which is a quick/direct route. While moving you can go into the
Preferences button and choose "Short" or "Alternate". After the
recalculate finishes you can review the new route and click "OK"
or not. Turning off the highways and then driving on them will
result in a constant barrage of "turn here" and "make a u-turn"
commands!

Pretty sure all the Lexus navigational units allow preferences to do what you want. Have you read your manual.

If he read pages 116-118 as previously posted he would have his info.
I even posted the pdf on another "I read the manual but can't find this" thread.

Not sure how much more spoon feeding he expects us to do.

Maybe a trip to the Lexus dealer with a tech consult is in order.
