Sorry, I'm just curious.
OEM tires are regular all season ones. When we buy cars we include a set of winter tires/rims when negotiating.
Tires last longer, safer driving in winter.

All weather tires are still WIP. Winter tires in winter for me, Pirelli, Continental, Michelin, Nokian all good in Winter.
It is mandatory in our house AWD cars only and winter tires in winter. Ah, there is one exception one BMW M-class
RWD which is only driven in summer.

For best control we ought to go back to studded tires, the studs of today are not nearly as damaging to the road surface as those of yore

Question 20 inch to 18 inch studded snow tires

2019 RX450H bought in July, have always run 4 studded tires (Alaska) can I go to a 18 or 19 inch tire? Have decided on Nokian Hakkapelitta9 studded tires but with 20 inch limited wheels selection. Thank you

sure, there is a factory 18" size, that some vehicles came with
if you look at the stock 20 and 18 and see the rolling diameter and overall height, if you want a 19, match 1 up.
no worries, enjoy . love my 450,

I am looking to get a a RX and I was hoping to use the winter tires and 17 rims from my NX. Will these fit the RX?

Excellent choice of tires !!! I'm sure you can as I believe 18 is the standard size on base model, you just have to tell the computer that. Fort this you may have to go to the dealer that has to hook it up to a computer.

the rolling diameter is the same, if matched correctly, no computer has to be told anything.
look at the stock 18 and 20, and look at the rolling diameter, and total height, they are the same,

Just looking to confirm that 18" rims from previous gen 2010-2015 RX fit without hitting the calipers or any suspension components. They offset is slightly different on those.

Thanks

2016+ RX has different brakes and rotors. The wheel offset might also be different. You should test the wheel you want to use.

Yes, why I'm asking, there are people who owned the previous gen and must have tried those rims. I don't want to buy rims just to see if they'll work.

I want to pickup a set of some Lexus 18s to use for winter driving.

Default Snow Tires

How many people (if any) switch out All-Season tires for snow tires for the Winter on their AWD RXs? I've always had AWD cars and trucks and never used snow tires and never had a problem. Tires on my 2020 RX are Bridgestone Ecopia H/Ls which are all season. Just lucky? Opinions please!

I guess it depends on where you live. In Canada, I'm under the impression winter tires are a requirement. I live on Long Island in NY and I've never used winter-specific tires after the good old rear-wheel-drive days of the 50s and 60s.
Since front wheel drive became common and now, AWD SUVs, I don't have a need for them.

I live in a rural area of Ontario, Canada and we get plenty of lake effect snow and freezing weather. Lots of people run winter tires around here. If you are going to wear out tires over the life of the car, you may as well run winter tires. I have Blizzaks on 20" OEM rims from a previous RX that was totaled.

Not sure I follow your logic about wearing out tires. Can you elaborate? Thanks!
