Dealer sold me an 18" winter set when we bought the car. As you can see, they are Braelin aftermarket wheels with Michelin tires.. Need a second set of lug nuts.

They do the job, but if I had to do it again, I'd stick with 20". Lexus recommends 18's for winter, but the size differential means my speedo is off by 3 KM/Hr, as shown on my Waze display. With the 20's mounted the speed is the same on both displays. So I have to adjust the speed of the car up and putzing with the cruise is annoying!

Sorry for the dirty wheels shot; after all, it is winter and I've not been to the car wash in a few days.

You live in Ontario? You're forgiven for the dirty wheels!

Thank you! I'm surprised to hear your speedo is off by that much, based on what I've read in these forums. Thank you so much for that info. Hopefully you're going slower than you think. :-)

Our CT200 speedo is always 2-3 lower than Google Maps too (stock wheels and rims). Personally, I will be driving in slower conditions anyway. Tradeoff for better grip with the 18's is worth it to me.

Looks like your wheel is a Braelin - BR10 - Graphite - 18", 5 x 114.3.
This wheel has a 70.1 Center bore. Did you get some hub-centric rings? Any issues with that? I've been reading to go with a center bore that matches the OEM.

Thank you!

Just checked the Canada Wheels site and it looks like they are hub centric 60.1MM center bore, so no ring required or in use.

Wife really doesn't like them as they look flat black on the car and she likes shiny things. But when we bought the car in November 2020, that's about all the dealer could find as there were shortages of everything. I'm scouring Kijiji and FB Marketplace for some factory 20's. If the prices get better, may just buy some and sell these next year. Grip comes from the winter tire; 20's may be stiffer than 18's with the shorter sidewall but for my use, they would be fine. Certainly much better traction than the stock Michelins on cold and snowy days.

Have any tried using Michelin CrossClimate 2 in the winter mountains with snow?

Default wheel size and TPMS question

Hello every, I am new here.

I am looking for a set of winter tires. The car is a 2021 Lexus RX 350 premium with 18-inch wheels, its size is 18*8J ( I found it in the manual). I found a guy selling new Toyota OEM wheels with 18*7.5J, I guess 0.5 is no big deal, but I want to check before I buy, no return or refund for private selling. even cheaper than the aftermarket brand so that I can buy them for the winter tires, the tires could be original size 235/65/18 ( I will do it before the winter)?

I am not going to install TPMS for winter tries, the dealer told me I have to go back to collaborate whenever I switch the wheels. My question is the warning message will be annoying if the winter wheels are without TPMS sensors, like on the display all the time? I do not mind purchasing sensors, but I do not like going back to the dealer to set up the data, I prefer switching them at home. Any suggestions for TPMS set up at home? Thanks all of you.

[QUOTE][[color=#222222] Any suggestions for TPMS set up at home?/QUOTE]

In an earlier post, the ATEQ Quickset tool was suggested. I bought one and have been using it for years. It worked on my GEN4 2016 RX350 and my current 2018 RX350.

Here is a link to the manufactures WEB site for more info : https://www.ateq-tpms.com/en-us/prod...ms-reset-tool/

Looks like they sell for just over $100 now. After 5 seasons of Winter/Summer changeovers, it's definitely paid for itself.

Here is a screenshot of the Windows program used to setup the tool :

Default Need snow tire inputs

I'm in the market for some snow tires and was wondering what people had, and their experiences with the tires. Any recomendations?

I know blizzaks DMv2's are most peoples go to choice but to me there a good tire but I feel like there are better tires out there especially for Icey conditions. Also has anyone reduced their tire size when going to winter tires? As in stock size 235 to 225, seems like 225 would be a bit small for such a large heavy car?

I’ve only had Michelin X-Ice on my truck and my son uses Firestone WinterForce and both are good and a real difference from just all seasons.

Hello all,

I am new to this forum so my apologies and am not very familiar with Lexus cars as I am a new owner of a 2020 RX350. My apologies if my clarification below has been covered in prior discussions.

I have a 235/65R17 Michellin X-Ice winter tires which I have used only for one season so I just want to clarify if I can use this instead of the OEM 235/65R18.

Thank you for your help and your reply would be much appreciated.

The'll work fine as long as you realize you'll need 17" rims instead of the 18s on your car now.

Are you sure 17" time will clear the brakes? The smallest OEM tire on RX is 18".

I doubt those tires will work. My winters were supplied by the purchasing dealer and are 235/65/18. The issue is the overall diameter of the tires. If it's not close, you'll possibly mess up a bunch of things like the speedometer readings. Check a site like Tire Rack.

No! Sell the 17” snow tires & buy the correct size tires for your car, period. Your safety & other’s safety on the highway is not worth gambling on a set of tires that were never designed to fit your current vehicle.
