When I accelerate you can hear what sounds like metal scraping under the car near the driver's side. Sometimes you can hearing when the car is idling in park, which is when I first heard it. I have brought my car in to the dealer 2x's for this problem which they say is an exhaust problem without a fix. However, the first time I told the service advisor about it they didn't note it on my service invoice. The second time I brought it in the service advisor said he heard the noise but again said they didn't have a fix for it. On my 2nd service invoice it says customer states there is a metallic ting heard when accelerator is touched but mechanic didn't hear any noise. Also goes on to say that the service advisor drove the car and did not hear the noise either. The service advisor already told me he heard the noise when I was parked in the service drive so why are they pretending they don't hear anything? Anyone else having this problem?

Check out page 19. "Walt" found a fix if it's your exhaust system. The excessive noise thread is found on page one for the 4RX. Same page as your post.
Since it makes noise even when not moving, I suspect that's an indication of exhaust issues.
