I guess that's the climate difference between WV & Ontario here we need a warmer wheel.

Well, I’m in Texas & it can get cold here. The RX heated wheel is pathetic! It’s the worst heated wheel I’ve ever had - even FCA has better steering wheel heat & they are known for building junk!

The heated wheel on the RX is terrible. I can barely feel it on the cold days.

I don't know about your steering wheel heaters, but mine gets warm at 9 & 3!

Haha yeah, what's with this 9 and 3 heated steering wheel?!? They couldn't have made it the whole wheel? My 2003 Nissan Maxima had a full heated steering wheel and it got warmer than my wife's current RX.

I have heard a rumor that heated steering wheels are deliberately set at 9 and 3 as (presumably) those are the positions your hands should be in to avoid injury if the airbag is actuated. My 2017 Ford Fusion Energi heated the entire steering wheel. I would prefer the RX heated the entire steering wheel, but I manage to get by with it just heating at 9 and 3. First world problem if there ever was one.

I am sure someone will. Although honestly i was bedazzled that second I realized that steering wheel gets lukewarm on 3 and 9. I honestly thought Ashton Cutcher is gone come out and say “pranked”. Every luxury brand i owned before had heated ENTIRE wheel ))) Few more things rub me the wrong way in Rx. I learned to ignore it in appreciate what i have)

Lexus, like some other manufacturers, only heats the leather-covered portion of the steering wheel. Heating the wooden portion is problematic, as wood does not transfer heat very well. My wife's Honda Pilot has an all-leather wheel and is fully heated. The Buick Enclave she drove previously had a partially wooden wheel, and only the leather portion was heated. It was far down on the list, but one of the reasons I bought a new 2020 over a used 2019 was the matte finish on the 2020 wood wheel. I thought it would feel less cold than the polished wood on prior gen 4s.

Maybe an F Sport driver can comment in this thread, since the F Sport has an all-leather wheel. My guess is that it is fully heated (unless Lexus cheaped-out and reused the heating subsystem from the non-F Sports.)

No, only 9 and 3.

BTW, there are these things you can wear on your hands in winter to keep them warm ....

FSport wheel still heated only to 9 & 3. It appears to extend from about 8 to 10 on the left and about 2 to 4 on the right, similar to what I experience with the gen 3 that had a wood wheel. They must use the same base structure for both wheel styles (all leather and wood). Wouldn't be surprised if there is wood under the leather, maybe a defective wood wheel? Just a guess. It's not a huge issue for me, though. Want warm hands, hold the wheel where the heater is. Would have been nice if it was integrated with the climate controls like it is on the UX and ES, though. Maybe next gen.

Neither of our RXs (2020 350 and 2021 450h) has any wood on the steering wheel. Just get heated at 9 and 3. I've adjusted quite well. So far. If I have trouble coping, there are two psychiatrists in my family to help me.
