Wow, I wasn’t aware that this was a known issue. My heated steering wheel is pathetic, it’s so lukewarm. But my heated seats aren’t that hot at all. My Acura RDX seats were so hot on the third setting, I usually kept them on the middle setting. My front passenger seat is worse than the driver seat. I currently have it on the third setting and it’s just lukewarm. I have a ‘22 RX. Disappointed for sure

You are lucky to get it fixed for free. It is a known issue and according to the Technical Bulletin it should take 3 hours of labor. Don't know the cost of parts so I am guessing the whole job at $700.00 My drivers seat gets real hot and the passenger seat gets nothing. I have not checked the back seats yet. I will not have this repair done. Ain't worth it.

The new Lexus' have heated steering wheels that heat the whole circle plus they actually get warm. I love it on my ESh. It's also automatic, based on HVAC temperature setting.

My driver’s education taught me the correct hold positions were 10 & 2. Our evaluators definitely observed & dinged us, if we were not following that guidance.

By the way, it may just be my hybrid, but the wheel and the seats are perfect. I have always attributed the greater heat and fast heat up to being a hybrid. Hybrids do not have an alternator, so the power for the heaters is coming from the 280 volt main system, Obviously the voltage is stepped down to 12 volts, but it would be constant, and not have to depend on voltage being shared by the 12 volt alternator in a non hybrid vehicle.

Hi all - The weak/faulty seat heater can certainly be repaired and is a known issue for a few years. I posted about this a few years ago when I had mine replaced:
I have a 2017 RX350 F Sport and I have almost a non-functioning driver seat heater. Car has been in service for for 1.5 weeks so far. They said the heating grid is inside the cushion and have to special order it to replace it. Supposed to get it back tomorrow... supposedly.
Quick update on this. Got the car back today and the heat is working how it should. Gets nice and toasty for the winter weather I am in.
Service report states "CAUSE: INTERNAL FAULT IN HEATER GRID. REPLACE DRIVERS SEAT HEATER CUSHION PART# 71102-0E100-C1".
The part number for mine is for black interior, yours will be different if you have a different color interior (e.g., Rioja red, etc).

Come on, a little levity never hurts.

I have a hybrid also & I have no issue with my seat heaters. The steering wheel heater however, is a dismal waste of money! Granted, mine is better since I took that stupid wood wheel off & put a full leather one in its place. That freak’n wood wheel would fry our hands in the 100° summer heat & it never warmed up in the winter.

That makes no sense, I grab the entire wheel when I am turning, the entire wheel should’ve been heated. Also, the parts that are heated are so lukewarm.

For what it’s worth, I have owned numerous vehicles of all brands with heated steering wheels & Lexus is the ONLY one where the entire wheel is not warmed.
